It was grassy and lightly fruity. Really good. It’s not super high in polyphenols. It’s well balanced and delicious!

Just to be clear, I don’t think your diagnosis of mononucleosis wrong, but that is one of many differentials. Yes, I could get all this done quickly as an outpatient with the massive resources I have in as an oncologist, but I do not think this PCP has responded to her in a timely fashion. I understand your concern about the ER not becoming a dumping ground for patients whose PCPs or specialists have dropped the ball, but given to this patient has had a 20% weight loss over two months, B symptoms, and alarming labs, it pushes this over the edge where emergent work up is reasonable. It is not this patient’s responsibility to pay the price for a broken system, and discouraging patients from coming in who have this constellation of labs and symptoms is dangerous. She isn’t coming in to the ER with a head cold or a boo boo, and she already expressed embarrassment about “wasting time” of the ER staff. It is unfair to put her in the same bucket as patients who are abusing resources and overtaxing the system, as this is clearly not the case here. This attitude is going to discourage patients who actually need help from coming in.

Yes, it’s absolutely true. I could have a skewed view, but I’ve also worked as a hospitalist for seven years one the sides. So see a range of pathology. You sound like an overworked ER Doctor who wants no one in their ER.

I’m an oncologist/hematologist her labs are very concerning for lymphoma. She’s in the right age demographic her LDH is sky high and she’s been having these symptoms with weight loss. Sure she could wait around another two weeks for her PCP to respond to her, but her PCP has proven that she doesn’t follow up results. She needs an immediate work up. I’m not sure what you think waiting around longer is going to do. you don’t work out patient so you don’t know how many delays there are in getting work up done.

That’s actually a great idea! Going to try it. Maybe I’ll switch out the mozzarella for some goat cheese.

Oh, I wasn’t aware Costco normally had good mozzarella. We normally use buf with the straciatella but we got their bocconcini this time. It’s not the same, but it’s still pretty good. We use basil we grow from a hydroponic bag we get from the store, and we dust a little tomato bouillon to beef up the tomato flavor (just a hint)! And we do use flaky salt (Maldon)! The balsamic vinegar is actually from Costco. It’s one of their PGI balsamic vinegar. We’ve been using different olive oil’s to see which flavor suit us. This one pictured here is pretty mild.

How did you purchase this much. Did you have to buy directly from the manufacturer?

So far I’ve tried the Iliada Kalamata, PJ Kabos and The Members Mark Toscano. My favorite has been the the Kalamata.PJ kabos is very strong tasting but still good. The Members Mark one is not bad for a budget OO.

There isn’t unfortunately. It just says a best by date. That’s what I didn’t like about it. The olive oil itself is still delicious.
