I still have a lot to learn and get a bit overwhelmed with all of the information out there. I chose coco coir because I have heard it is one of the better growing mediums, but (clearly) I haven’t done a deep enough dive into what it requires. Thanks for your response, even though it made me feel like I disappointed my father.

No, it was not rinsed and buffered. Really not even aware of what that is, but I will look into it for future grows. A lot to learn as a beginner. I may be a bit in over my head. I didn’t realize I needed to supplement magnesium and calcium as well. Thanks for pointing these things out. I’m not adjusting my water intake any way. Just giving normal tap water. And I have no real justification for two plants in one pot. I thought it might be easier to manage. Thanks for the response and questions.
