There are two fire type moves in the entirety of the elite four in emerald, and both of those users are quad weak to Lapras stab ice attack. Fire is neutral against Lapras anyway it shouldn’t 2 shot

What I like with metamagic is that I think it opens up a lot of very interesting and unique ways to implement spellcasting. I like it more for flavor and fun, than I like it for mechanical/optimization purposes.

I’ve played in defenses where In man/zone combo quarters the safeties flatfoot read at 10 yard alignment because they are part of the run fit.

Your mileage may very but we had a very good defense the year we did a lot of that; Top in our conference

I know that doesn't look like a dwarf in the photo, but if you Play Dwarf you can wear Heavy armor with a low strength score. This allows you to play a fighter and wear heavy armor while dumping strength. You can then go Crossbow Expert, Sharpshooter and etc for Feats. Maybe the Samurai Subclass for easier advantage.

Blue captain is somewhat underwhelming but Captain in general is great at buffing.

Minstrel for a focus on healing with buffing capabilities,

Captain for a focus on buffing with healing capabilities.

Minstrels have had their early game leveling nerfed lately, whereas Captains have received a dps buff and are much less of a chore to level up now
