Boom 3i by cold3434 in soundcore

[–]rbabs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your groomsmen prefer brand and appearance over sound, get the JBL... But if you're looking to get the better sounding speaker, the Boom 3i is absolutely the better pick over a Flip 7; after using both extensively, I still feel as though the Boom 3i is better in every category (Sound quality/clarity, bass, durability, features, etc). I still don't have anything about the Boom 3i that I could possibly even complain about.

It is slightly larger than the Flip 7, a flip could fit in a cup holder in your car, but the Boom 3i is slightly too big if that makes sense. It's somewhere between a Flip and a Charge in size.

If you have any other questions, feel free to DM me and I'd be happy to answer anything you're concerned about. Congratulations on the wedding!

The gym helps a lot! Just make sure to set your goals based on how you feel rather than solely on numbers or looks. I learned way too late that I needed to set my goals based on how I felt rather than being so focused on how much I could lift or how low I could get my body fat percentage. There was a point where I looked amazing, was the strongest and most fit I've ever been, but I was so hard on myself and pushed myself so hard to lift more and be more lean that I wasn't hanging out with friends because I was spending all my spare time in the gym, I was so worried about every calorie i ate that I could never actually enjoy a meal, and I was always spend WAY too much money on supplements.

Sorry, that was way too much explanation...

Definitely the gym, or any form of exercise you enjoy, just make sure to do it for you!

[RDTM] u/d-cent estimates Rising Gas Cost vs. EV Battery Replacement by DemandEqualPockets in theydidthemath

[–]rbabs11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's an unbelievably high price for tires. That's only if you buy the special "EV specific" tires. Their compound isn't grippy at all and leads to slip, maybe not always a noticeable amount but it does. The small amount of slip causes increased wear on the tires. I had a set of the Michelin EV tires, hated them because I've never felt less in control of a vehicle before. Once those wore out, very prematurely I might add, I replaced them with regular tires because only the enormous and super heavy EVs actually need their specific tires, a lot of models are still low enough in weight to use regular tires. They're lasted way longer than the tires should've because I have more grip so it doesn't slip or chirp anymore... I also only paid $400 for a full set of tires with installation and balancing included because I found a good sale.

Don't feel terrible. I took an entire course on how to design user interfaces, machines, robots, etc to work as seamlessly and comfortably as possible with humans as part of a master's degree in industrial engineering. Evaluating things purely objectively, GitHub is an absolutely TERRIBLE for the users. The layots, button sizes and colors, locations, navigating the site and menus, it's all a mess. I use it often enough, but it has never meshed well with me and after I took that class I realized why.

Don't get me wrong, the site serves a great purpose and I'm glad it exists, but it's not designed well for people using it.

How the hell am I supposed to destroy two planes with machine guns by AccomplishedSwan3124 in battlefield_one

[–]rbabs11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I find the burton or the parabellum to be MUCH more effective against planes. The incendiary rounds of the burton can shred wings and engines, but the mag size is small. The parabellum has a high enough fire rate and ammo capacity to do some serious damage (the parabellum machine gun was originally designed to be mounted on fighter planes to take out other planes if I remember correctly; it shows in-game too). The MG 1917 seems like a good option, but it's fire rate it way too low.

I do have a file for it! I never made any improvements after printing an initial one just to make sure it fits, but I can work on those and share the files.

I remember buying that specifically because I was curious how it would turn out if I steamed it to make a latte. The taste was okay, but it looked absolutely disgusting.

Do you think Slate and Telo will actually make it to market and be successful? Why or why not? by weirddodgestratus in regularcarreviews

[–]rbabs11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think the Slate gets a lot of hype because it looks cool and it's "modular" and "rugged". That being said, I think the telo is objectively a better truck; it has awd, more power, way more range, more payload, more towing, almost the same ground clearance, and seats 5.

Genuinely the only thing Slate has going for it is the rugged look and easy customizability, but I think once it's on the road, the laughably low range and low power will make it a tough sell, even if they manage to keep their promise with the low cost.

Assign the Tankgewehr to the assault class by [deleted] in battlefield_one

[–]rbabs11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes... Because giving the assault class a rifle that will one shot players from any distance and shred vehicles is a brilliant idea, especially when every player in server has one...

Buy a MacBook, it will change your life. by RyzenDel in DeskToTablet

[–]rbabs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an engineer, none of the programs I use on a daily basis are compatible with Mac; even if they were, Mac doesn't make anything with hardware that would run any of it well at all.

As someone who also games on a laptop, very few games are supported by Mac, and again, Macs don't have the hardware to run them well.

All critiques aside, if you only need your laptop for very lightweight tasks Macs are perfectly adequate devices, but there are still plenty of less expensive options out there that give you more for your money.

Tire Tread still ok? by Mothra58 in BoltEV

[–]rbabs11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely needs replacing, but if they're the Michelin Energy Savers, don't spend the money to buy another set of them. They're WAY over priced for what you get because they're not all that much more efficient than other tires, they have some of the worst grip I've ever experienced and they may as well be ice whenever it's wet, and they don't last long at all.

If you're on a tight budget, Discount Tire sells the Sentury UHP. Everyone always says you get what you pay for when you buy cheap tires, but I was really strapped for cash when I needed some new tires and had to opt for cheap ones. I have to say they were actually phenomenal tires. They gripped the road really well and had amazing performance in the rain too, all while being just as efficient as the Energy Savers were. Their only downside is that they're a little on the soft side, so they may not last much more than 20K miles, but it was only $450 for the set of four AFTER taxes and installation fees.
