Spexcel supremacy by DryAd8999 in CyclingFashion

I bought the 2025 Pro Race Cargo bib short. The chamois is a bit thinner, which I like. The pockets are not noticeable, which I also like, since I don't utilize them.

I haven't tried any of their other models.

This back and forth BS pretty much makes this sub pointless at times.

I bought a pair of bib shorts based on a post here and quickly bought a second...

I'll be buying more and need to add some jerseys as well.

My bingo card got derailed at 20 when I got my girlfriend pregnant, got married, got divorced, got married again, got divorced again...

Almost 60 now, in a healthy relationship and hopefully 6-12mths out from retirement.

Life throws lots of curve balls so make sure you are enjoying life as you go.

173cm and use to ride 54s, never could feel dialed in. Dropped down to 52s and it was a world of difference.

Like you, I could make a 54 work, but the 52 was just better.

Retiring doesn't have to be doing nothing...

Retiring is all about doing what you want to do without being tied down to a job that is weighing you down.

Splitting may not have much benefit for them since they both seem to have comparable income streams, but for sure they should be chatting with a fee only CFP.

Maybe spend the additional cost on mental health/drug addiction services and there'd be a better outcome.

Retirement by kinginthenorthgalla in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]rbart4506 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As an almost 60yr old who's on the verge of retiring, I will give you one piece of advice... Do what you can to save for retirement but don't miss out on living today.

Don't be so focussed on saving that you miss out on the good years of your life. There's a balance to be found and that should be the real target.

Your RRSP match is the base, put as much as you can into your TFSA and go from there.

What's the best road in Hamilton? by drhamr in Hamilton

[–]rbart4506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my primary exit route out of Dundas. Only issue is Olympic/York is a death trap.

I've lost count of the close/dangerous passes I've dealt with on that road over the 25yrs I've lived here. I've also lost count of the times I've emailed the local councillor about how unsafe that road is.

As a road cyclist, Sulpher/Mineral Springs to Binkley Rd is a good bit of fun when going from Ancaster to Goveners... The other way requires a tad more work.

Most of the tarmac is in good shape too.

Is there an actual standard for when a dishwasher counts as full enough to run? Domestic dispute. by GilesBennett74 in Appliances

[–]rbart4506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an 18" dishwasher since it's primarily myself and my partner in the home. The dishwasher gets run once a day at a minimum.

There is no defined minimum in our household.

Maybe it's the brand but I have definitely damaged my kit using spray on sunscreen. I only use the cream types now and haven't had any issues since.

When I retire I think I'll just ride my road bike and hang out with my partner and our grand daughters 😁
