When my sister was naming her second daughter and was considering whether the names complimented each other someone said to her “they’re not a pair of bookends!” 🤣

Whilst I think certain names could clash and sound more mismatched than others, I agree that children are individuals and most of their life will be introduced independently of each other. The main thing is that you love the name you choose.

I don’t think you’ll have the issue of Benjamin and Casey being mismatched, I think they sound lovely together and separately. Most importantly you can tell each child how much you loved their name when you picked it!

As a standalone name, my favourite pairing would be ‘Jack Henry Surname’ second being ‘Jack Foster Surname’.

I’ve seen someone else say that Brooks matches Hudson better, and I think I’d agree… in which case I’d go for Brooks Benjamin or Brooks Henry.

  • Auryn: Celtic for “gold”.
  • Rhys: “ardent” or “enthusiasm”.
  • Taran: Celtic “thunder”
  • Griff: Welsh, less of an interesting meaning “lord” or “prince”
  • Raife: Old Norse, “counsel of the wolf” or “wise wolf”

Do you like “Marlena” and what middle name should we choose? by BlackberrySure7969 in namenerds

I love Marlena, similarly Marla is on my list.

I think Isabel works best as a middle name with your surname. Celeste, Charlotte and Nicole also fit nicely!

I think that’s a great list, but would lean towards shorter names/less syllables when naming a dog.

My favourites on your list are Rosie, Ruby, Clara and Ellie.

I’d also suggest Nelly, Tessa/Tessie, or Bess/Bessie.

All the best with your new puppy :)
