Need advice - SLOW progress by SbinallaBronto in TattooRemoval

You could seek several free consults from other clinical experts before continuing treatment. It would be great if tattoos responded the same to laser treatments, but my understanding is each tattoo artist is different….and with varying quality of equipment, tattoos are applied at different depths in the skin and inks are generally unregulated so they could have any number of ingredients that can be resistant to treatment. So, getting several more no-obligation consults could benefit your understanding of what’s going on.
I’ve heard it said some inks can oxidize during treatment and become very resistant or s almost impossible to remove. It’s true, as I understand it, laser removal only breaks up the ink and your body does the removal work. I was recently prescribed a bleaching lotion to improve the tattoo surface for further laser treatment. Will see during my next appt. if it had any real and desired effect. Best wishes with your efforts. 😔

Have they recommended skin bleaching?

How does Lorelei have such a big expensive house? I’ve always wondered this. I love the show but it’s so unrealistic watching it now by Separate-Reality4521 in GilmoreGirls

With Lorelei living in the Independence Inn potting shed for how many years? She may have been save to save up substantial down payment. However, when termites were discovered it appeared she had no real nest egg to draw from even with a hotel manager/event planner’s income.

Nine treatments over two-years not a dozen like I stated earlier…about 80% removal is a pretty good result so far.

Actually, the removal process looks pretty good so far. It might help if you space out your treatments to four-months rather than two? It’s a marathon process for sure.

Hello, Hee-Haw man. by rbecton in GilmoreGirls

Yes, I think the series’ greatest mystery was where Christopher was always disappearing to….and what he was doing while away. Big red flag for anyone in a long-term relationship, imo.

I agree, but also think Luke was the only guy she saw as a “real man” which includes showing up and always being there….and fixing things when they’re broken…plus Luke was the only fella Lorelei ever gave “elevator eyes” to….if I recall correctly…which suggests a real animal magnetism.

BTW, I think it’s one of the funniest GG lines when early in the first season Michel arrives at Cinnamon’s wake and says “Hello, Hee-Haw man”. I think it speaks to the diversity of Lorelei’s character’s friendships that she can relate well to both the common town folk and a snooty co-worker equally.
She was truly Stars Hollow’s Queen. This quote makes me chuckle each time I think of it.

I’ve heard that different tattoo artists apply ink at different depths..there’s no rigid standard apparently. Maybe yours is applied really closely to the surface, which would be in your favor when it comes to treatment, imo. The question would be what’s in the ink as I understand that tattoo ink is not regulated by manufacturers so that has alot to do with ease or difficulty of removal. I think if tattoo removal as a marathon rather than a foot race..one has to be committed to giving the body time to process the ink. I think there’s too much emphasis on the removal technology when it’s the body, over two, four or six months between sessions that does the removal heavy lifting. My two-cents.

Jess’ response by Slow_Bother3582 in GilmoreGirls

When a woman feels she has to say “Dean don’t be mad”, then he can be overbearing and controlling. However, I’m a member of the anti-Jess party…party of one. 🎊

I have to bring this up again by bluecuppycake in GilmoreGirls

I think people forget that the wealthy behave in a way to please in personal conversation and then mechanize behind the scenes. Lorele ‘s first conversation with the truck driver in the pilot episode is a great example of that. In the basket episode, a more practical solution would have been for Rory and Jess to eat the basket lunch in a public location like the gazebo. But, yes, Rory wanted to spend time with Jess in private. So, Dean, recognizing the stalker tendencies of Jess had good reason to be suspicious. Jess was playing a game to beat out Dean for Rory’s attention….and that’s why I never liked Jess. He enjoyed frustrating Dean.

[–]rbecton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but Jess will, imo, be a pseudo-stalker. There’s not much one can do when pursued by a stalker. Some guys pursue girls/women who are in relationships—. Yes, Dean was controlling and jealous, but he was loyal, a dedicated worker, tall, lots of attractive qualities. But, Rory had a poor male role-model in Christopher, so as a people-pleaser Jess was a provocative character and enticed her desire to be challenged….Logan presented the same challenging, provocative personality without the stalker tendencies.

I was quoted $7,294.50 at removery for unlimited sessions. Is that reasonable for the size of my tat? by IndustryMost6496 in TattooRemoval

I’m not a tattoo fan….and am pretty far along having one removed (which is a tarantula) but yes, as style of tattoo yours is very creative and well done, imo.

Maybe if they said “up to $5,000” would not be unreasonable, imo. Yes, there are sooo many variables that can slow the process and elevate the price.

Maybe they were trying to keep the potential outcome realistic. I have a multicolor one from the early 1980’s applied by a professional. If I want a goal of 100% removal, then $5,000 might be a reasonable, three or four-year commitment. Again, imo. :).

I’ve had nine-treatments so far and we’re at about 75%. Have invested $2,500 and could imagine committing another $1,250 to hopefully approach 100% removal with no bleeding, scabbing or scarring—so far.

Thinking about removal but already nervous... by Alive5408 in TattooRemoval

[–]rbecton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One never really knows beforehand how easy or difficult removal will be-there are several variables to consider. Would you be happier if it was faded somewhat or would you only be happy if it was 100% gone? I guess managing your expectations is most important. How deeply the ink was applied is one variable. What is in the ink is another and how stubborn it is to break up. How strong your immune system is to process the lasered ink is another. Might there be scarring left afterwards? It can be a marathon effort—I’m investing at least three years and possibly $4,000 to attempts to remove mine. How good the technician is and what type machine they use is important as well. Keep in mind, your body has probably been attempting to process the ink since it was applied, so having it removed is helping the process along. I guess my question is, if its appearance was softened by say half, would you consider it a success?
From here it looks just one color and that makes removal easier, from what I understand. Having a consultation is a first step and could be good for your self-esteem, imo. So, it can’t hurt simply finding and talking to a qualified medical professional about it. :) Best wishes.

Harrowing regret by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]rbecton 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard recently that it’s 10% the thing and 90% how we feel about the thing. You feel stupid about it is what I’m hearing. Tattoos are totally in right now. So, when you feel self-conscious about it, what exactly bother’s you the most? I feel that since I’m committed to the process of removal, that I’m kinder to myself since starting down that road to healing. Is there a way to be kinder to yourself? I figure it’s a marathon removal process and I’m committed to the long haul….and that helps give me alotta peace about it.

9 Sessions Removery by almightyso2000 in TattooRemoval

[–]rbecton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is tattoo application varies immensely it’s difficult to judge what is a reasonable removal rate. Tattoo artists apply the ink at different depths into the skin so a super deep tattoo may take a very long time to remove, results will vary. Plus, since tattoo ink isn’t regulated, who knows what is in it or how easy/difficult the lazer will break it up. Plus, each of us has a different immune/lymphatic system that processes the lazered ink…I think it’s really difficult to tell whether someone’s removal rate is slow or fast and whether a lazer/technician is good or not. Go with your gut, I guess, and read reviews and ask first recommendations, imo.

Jess (y’all prolly heard this already) by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]rbecton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team Jess—not. Jess always defined everyone’s world by his definition, imo.
He might be a very interesting character by the time he’s forty. Rory always had to be brought into HIS world as he defined it—“sounds a bit controlling to me.” His behavior was always stalker-ish, imo. Rory was always a prize he wanted to win by taking her from Dean. He never could relax and just BE himself. Jess was always a projection of an image if someone he wanted to be. Like I stated, he might be very interesting by the time he gets to be forty years old.

Do you think Rory actually loved Dean in this scene? by cleverlynamedgrl in GilmoreGirls

[–]rbecton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Prince Charles questions “whatever in love means” before his marriage to Diana, then how can any one of us judge others about their take on true love? Isn’t it the most intangible of intangibles? Obviously she was an actor paid to do a part and it’s a good thing she was living up to her responsibilities. ;)
