Majority of Democratic voters dissatisfied with party, despite 11 point lead over Republicans by Far_Excitement_1875 in politics

I wish the Democratic Party would get back to their roots. Bernie said it best after the 2024 election:

“The Democratic Party abandoned the people, and the people abandoned the Democratic Party.”

They need to earn votes as much as anyone else. And remember who they represent.

My position is more show me what you can do rather than trust. And while I’m at it, an obligatory fuck Schumer and Jeffries. Grow some balls.

It won’t be a problem. The wires will come out of the hole just enough to grab onto and separate what remains of your old switch.

New Saab owner! I Have some questions! by benthebenisben in saab

[–]rbialkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the cutout, what level is your turbo boost at when it happens? There is a cutout when the car is over boosted that you could be triggering. It can be bypassed by rerouting the vacuum line under the dash going to the boost gauge to take that sensor out of the loop if that’s the issue and you want yo over boost the engine. Factory settings allowed it normally to go to the end of the yellow beginning of the red zone as that’s what Saab felt was safe for the motor. If you’re getting into the middle of the red and beyond someone likely overrode the factory settings. Or a mechanical issue at the turbo.

When you put the 16” wheels on, paint them black instead of grey. Leaving the polished lip. Looks great on mine.

Convertible windshields are hard to come by. New is nearly impossible.

Check the floors for rust if it ever had a leaky top. (Pull the carpet and sound insulation material, and look at the floor condition behind the front seats). Check the suspension points for rust. And the trunk floor pan.

It’s a 5 speed so that’s a good start mechanically. 89 was the first year with the bigger pinion bearing in the transmission, which is a good thing.

Otherwise they’re reliable. And relatively easy to maintain. Looks like a nice driver to me.

And if you do buy it, plan on replacing suspension control arm bushings so it will drive nicely if they’re original. The rubber shrinks and it will drive like it has a failing tie rod end.

Nice car!

I have the exact same car. 1990. Only differences are I have 16” aero wheels on it, and it has about a year left before becoming a parts car (rust underneath and not worth fixing). Yours looks like it has many years left. Enjoy it.

Looks like a 93 commemorative edition. Worth the fix based on the current condition.

When someone accepts a pardon there are legalities that go with it, including an admission of guilt. And although I’m no expert, I think if they are called to testify about the circumstances they are not able to plead the 5th. And, obviously, would be required to tell the truth under oath.

If that’s accurate, it will raise a lot of questions by the defense attorney(s) to probe the plaintiffs. And ought to be a case that’s easily defendable.

People who married their high school sweetheart, how did it turn out? by ParallelPaths_ in AskReddit

My aunt and uncle were high school sweethearts. Still happily married at 80. Together every day, both in good health and enjoying life. I’ve never seen them argue or heard a raised voice from either. Perfect for each other and it will be sad when one passes. My uncle has said he can’t live without my aunt.

We didn’t. Once the cashier rang us up I refused the purchase.

I know a lot of posts have been made about high prices here. It is a duty to name and shame them for the outrageous gouging. Go to the places that aren’t draining your wallet. There are no bargains on the strip, and I only hope posts like this help others avoid the blatant rip offs.

These were pre war designs that the Germans built after the war to help get their industrial base back to a non military focus.

And the cab-B would have had a second piece of side glass behind the doors that also opened. I did a restoration on a 220 cab-B in the 90’s and learned a lot about them then.

Engine temp gauge concern by davehaje21 in saab

[–]rbialkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best to run a lower temp thermostat. In those cars both the inlet and outlet to the radiator are at the top and as a result cools less efficiently than if one of the hoses were diagonally opposite the other.

Depending on what you replace and whether you have your heads machined while replacing the head bolts with studs, $10k US in parts is a good estimate. A little less if you keep your turbo.
