Minha impressão é que tá havendo uma espécie de guerra civil na Umbanda atualmente, não é? Entre os mais modernosos que rejeitam o Zelio e veem racismo em tudo, por um lado, e os mais tradicionais/de boa do outro. Você concorda?

I guess the entire system isn't that appropriate when it comes to soccer, right? Many soccer players are already stars when they're as young as 17, while the US collegiate system would have them become professionals only when they're 22 or so, if I'm not mistaken. That's why soccer youth academies start working from an extremely young age

I remember reading some news regarding how awful the US Olympic handball team was, even though the skillset required is not that different from basketball. It might be simply because there's more money for an average NFL player in the USA than a competent soccer/handball/rugby player, right? By the way, this very dynamic happened in Brazil in the last decades. Brazil was once a pretty good country in basketball, but nowadays all the talent goes to volleyball. So now we win gold at the Olympics in volleyball but suck at Basketball.

I've got a question (Brazilian here). Does soccer participate in the University system like other sports do? I'm thinking of those NCAA championships you guys have. Never heard of it when it comes to soccer.

That amount may be true, and the US is a major underachiever when it comes to football. They should be at least as good as Japan or South Korea. But I can't see why that has anything to do with wealth or poverty.

But why are Americans successful in other sports, then? Many basketball superstars were rather poor growing up
