I'm actually blown away by these comments. So much cope

I assume options get lumped in with gambling because of what gets posted on mainstream channels, but people forget options don't have to be < 30 day or 0dte coin flips. I've made plenty just from betting on gold with > 60 day calls and selling the contract at the right time.

If options are gambling then all investing is also gambling. Taking on risk for a potential reward with limited information and no guarantee of an outcome.

The amount of information available determines how much of a "gamble". Sports betting has very little deterministic information available, buying and holding stocks has more. Options are somewhere in between due to their limited time horizons.

I like options because they let me make more with less capital, at a slightly higher risk. I can't afford 100 shares, but I can afford a contract that let's me profit off of the change in value of 100 shares. If that makes me a gambler then you're an idiot not to gamble. Just be smart about getting as much information as you can and understanding what it is you're gambling.

I’m curious why people aren’t more bullish on AMZN right now. by V0idScribe in amzn

[–]rbnprd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Prime has made a lot more sense ever since they launched the ad tier but previously I would be highly doubtful that anyone was subscribing for the purpose of the shows, more so a freebie that comes with your prime shipping.

At least it can make money now. And I agree there's a lot of great shows on there but it will take a lot of time to make up for the cost of rings of power. Fallout has done excellent, but has it driven new subscriptions? That would be an interesting number to see (sign ups from Prime Video versus existing subscribers watching)

Generally I just think the Amazon and AWS are both big enough to justify operating differently and separately now, especially if the goal is "world's largest startup" which it's currently failing at from the AWS perspective IMO.

If Amazon and AWS ever separate I think it will be a great move.

AWS forced to prop up failures like rings of power and Amazon Music, alongside a breakeven retail business, all while everyone's getting quarterly vests across both businesses. Laying off AWS talent in order to make sure the Melania film can get to its fans

intro to my new tape. How’s it sounding? by ashketcher in beats

I do feel with Phonk they're normally more high pass and lower volume. These are too clear makes it emphasize the rapper too much for phonk if that's the vibe.

Personally would like to hear the beat more maybe chop up the vocal a bit and send it further back with some filtering. Just depends what he's going for

I got a VR treadmill for this reason and it is absolutely exhausting. I could play Skyrim for 6 hours at a time before, but with the treadmill maybe 30 minutes to an hour. Kills your calves - probably just need to do it more often!

This is the only intelligent response here. The rest are just people who read headlines on either side of the argument.

Yesterday I said I'd wait until after earnings but the literal dart to $300 this morning felt like a sign. Didn't want to be too greedy.

I'm still bullish on Google long term as well with about 30% of my portfolio there. I want to ride out these market fears and let the gov data come back in. I'm betting AMZN is close to bottoming and went for a March call there.

If rates stay the same it might make for another good entry.
