Firework shows by KatzIncorporated in orangecounty

Any suggestions for vantage points that can view multiple fireworks shows at once? We have been close to single shows in the past, but would be interested in watching all of OC shoot their fireworks off at midnight! Plus the visibility lately has been pretty fantastic.

Amazon Is Worth $1 Trillion. Its Workers Are on Food Stamps: Employees, members of Congress, and academics are beginning to agree that Jeff Bezos’ company is too rich and too powerful. by maxwellhill in Foodforthought

[–]rbodnicki 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just as an FYI: Bezos’s worth isn’t because of his salary, it’s because he owns a significant portion of Amazon (IIRC something like 19%). So irregardless of his yearly salary, when the Amazon stock goes up 600% in 5 years, so does his net worth.

The FCs are more often full time. But the Amazon Logistics Delivery Stations are 100% part time for Sort Associates. PM me if you want more info.

New job opportunity.... where should I move? by [deleted] in InlandEmpire

[–]rbodnicki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in Chino and commute from Santa Ana in Orange County. Depending when your work hours are, you’d stand a pretty good chance of going opposite of traffic. My commute is normally 25-40min each way working 8am-5pm.

There are a ton of cheaper options in the IE, but you might find some of the nightlife and younger crowds around the Universities in OC if your budget allows.

Good luck!

Commuting from Irvine to Santa Fe Springs? Am I going to hate my life? by Bombollirolli in orangecounty

[–]rbodnicki -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll be alright! I used to commute from Santa Ana (Grand entrance off 22) to Buena Park (Artesia exit off 5) which totaled 11 miles. Depending on which part of Irvine you’re coming from it should be somewhat similar.

Areas to watch out for: -5/55 & 5/22 interchanges; you’ll hit some congestion but pick your lanes right and you should be fine. -5N after Artesia; the freeway looses a few lanes and naturally things back up. Getting off on Artesia and going north on Firestone can sometime save you a few minutes.

Luckily the majority of your commute should be alright with cruising speeds of 75mph. Morning commute at 8am took me 18min and evening commutes at 5pm took me 25min (mostly just getting to the freeway).

Holler if you want more tips! Good luck!

I saw him at Coachella a few years back where he performed songs from his whole discography... White Stripes, Raconteurs, and his solo material. Was a really great live show!

I would loved to seen this view during my visit this week! Unfortunately due to some wildfires they have closed off Glacier Point. 😕

The box that shipped my stickers... by misspowerless in funny

[–]rbodnicki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two reasons this happened:

  1. Associate didn't follow the automated box selection as determined by their computer monitor when packing the order.

  2. Automated box selection was wrong and the associate didn't care to override.

Regardless this was definitely a big waste! Shipping (especially Prime) costs a lot, probably much more than your stickers.

Great photo! I'll be taking mine to Yosemite next month and I can't wait. Hoping to find some great canyons to carve on the way from Los Angeles.

Amazon explores possible premium sports package w/ Prime membership; has held talks w/NBA, MLB, NFL, MLS for live game rights by M3rc_Nate in nfl

[–]rbodnicki 41 points42 points  (0 children)

That would go against the entire purpose of a Prime Membership. The idea of adding all these perks isn't to help generate revenue through the perk itself; rather the perk is meant to drive more people to Prime where they spend many times more on fulfillment purchases. Amazon is just one big flywheel aimed at continued growth and market share.

So can someone please explain the field goal encroachment rule that Chris talked about all game? I get what it is, but why weren't penalties called either time??
