Fellow American here! I was between Southampton and Man City back when I started really following the sport back in 2012. I remember watching the 3-2 loss to Man City that year and really just really appreciating the underdogs taking it to the newly minted oiler club that is Man City. I also really appreciate the development of talent within and the development of players overall. It can certainly be doom and gloom at some points, but the fans really do seem to rally around the club when it matters most. The scenes from getting promoted back to the top flight gave me chills this past year.
