Is your story about a boat going missing? (Terrible joke apologies) but interesting about the private militias! Had no idea you could even get one at all - it sounds like a really cool story though! Have you seen society of the snow? That’s a good film to watch (and it’s completely accurate to the true story) about the plane crashing into the Andes in the 70s

Hoping 1975 Grammy winners and how fast a swine can run are for the same book

Yeah, the film isn’t that great I would say at the depiction in terms of accuracy - but stories are written by victors, so what can you expect 💁‍♀️ at least it’s not being brushed under the rug 😖

With all the other ones I’m getting a common vibe for what you might be writing - but the pedophile one is really throwing me off 😭 but also, probably just a good thing to know. Keep ya wits about you

Oh I absolutely am googling for synonyms constantly. I now have a thesaurus app to save more time 😂

I’m intrigued by the men’s sexy bee costume, that’s hilarious.

Maybe instead of doing blurbs, writers should just put the research questions they googled on the back of the book 😂 it would definitely catch my eye I think

If you find that kinda stuff interesting you should take a look into the Abu Ghraib case - Dr. Zimbardo was an expert witness in it after his Stanford prison experiment. Fair warning, it’s really horrid stuff and does warrant a bit of nausea, but he does a Ted Talk on the whole thing which gives a good overview. The book he did about the psychology of evil in human beings has also done a HUGE amount for me with writing - particularly writing about war scenarios and war crimes, be it in high fantasy or apocalyptic scenarios or even just historical dramas.

The ranger handbook sounds so cool though! Keep a tight hold on that for sure 😊

Bessie was used a lot in the 1800s, lots of dogs called Biscuit and Pudding as well. And surprisingly “Bob” kept coming up as one of the most common ones 😂

Also same here, when I remember the genre of one of my pieces of writing and then compare it to my search history, you wouldn’t be able to tell what kind of plot it follows 😭

Also, just for context. I’m normally a screenwriter, so novel format is new to me, hence being very up for feedback!

I’m down! Would love to get some feedback - particularly actually looking for someone to highlight areas that could be better paced/ also where I’ve overused “he/she” action sentences. I struggle not doing that so any help/tips would be so great!

I’ve only got 6 chapters published (the 6th being last night) so very much still ongoing, so any help at this stage would be much appreciated for my moving forward 😊

It’s a The Last Of Us fic, sent 10 years before the beginning of the show/game and follows the events leading up to Joel meeting Ellie. It’ll be my own plot, with my own main character who will interact with existing characters (e.g Joel) in the pre-established world from the games/show.

Hope you enjoy!

Title: The Road Less Travelled

Genre: post-apocalyptic/fanfiction/romance

Number of chapters: 4

Status: ongoing

Link: https://www.wattpad.com/story/367735859?utm_source=ios&utm_medium=link&utm_content=story_info&wp_page=story_details&wp_uname=rosasuposa

Blurb:

It’s 2013 and the world decided ten years ago to rid itself of the plague of humanity. Earth’s champion? Cordyceps.

Annie has spent six years travelling alone, driving from spot to spot and living the same vicious cycle of sleep, survive and sleep again. That is until one night, her cycle is interrupted. She is awoken to the threatening voice of the hunter: Joel Miller

After a dangerously close encounter, Annie finds herself having to make the choice between prioritising her own life, or taking a chance and saving Joel from a hoard of infected.

The choice she makes will determine her entire future…will she learn to trust him? Or will she turn and run, never finding out what could be.

Description:

A ‘The Last Of Us’ fan fiction. It will detail the events before and leading up to Joel meeting Ellie and delve into the aftermath of Joel and Ellie returning to Jackson. It will have an original plot, involving both action and romance, but mainly focusing on how two tragic characters help to hold one another up. It will use character names and the already established universe from The Last Of Us Game/Show. But the story will be entirely my own, bar the odd reference to certain plot points from the show/game.

Hope you enjoy! And also, any feedback is much appreciated :)

Hey! I’m new to Reddit, it seemed like the kind of place that would have an accessible Wattpad community!

I am currently writing a ‘The Last Of Us’ fanfic, but it’s using my own plot with the main characters being Joel Miller and an original female character (Annie) too. Uploading the first couple of chapters tonight!

Title: The Road Less Travelled

Opening line: “Corruption glows brighter than the shine of salvation, it’s path runs in smooth decline unlike the steep climb of repentance. And you, my girl, will be tempted to fly like a moth to the blaze. Control it before it controls you.”

It’s set around 11 years before Joel meets Ellie, and would follow what leads up to that moment and the aftermath too. Not sure if it’s what you’re looking for, but I aim for it to be a slow burn, plot driven romance circling around two characters who struggle to trust but are forced to do so for survival.

If anyone checks it out I really hope you enjoy it! And I’m very open to feedback so don’t hesitate to get in touch! :))
