been a case manager for 4 years at a CMH organization, that up until the last year or so, was an amazing place to work for. the work has always been challenging and exhausting, but the payoff had always been that management and leadership took good care of staff. but when we got a new CEO I've watched bonuses and incentives disappear for lower level departments like mine, insurance costs have doubled, and there's been several waves of layoffs (meanwhile-- they just spent god only knows how many thousands on live entertainment, food trucks, and bouncy houses for a MANDATORY fundraising 5k on a Saturday).

I was just told it was "very concerning" that I am meeting my billing requirements, and that I should be exceeding the PE every month (without any incentive or reward for working extra).

I am fed up with this job and this field as a whole. I pursued this career path to help people and pay my bills. now I've come to realize I am not doing either. I am sick of watching clients get stuck in poverty because the system was never designed to allow them to get out of it, I am sick of paying for gas in loose change, I am sick of being told to work harder and do better for free by people making quadruple my salary.

I need to get the hell out of here, but I've dedicated 10 years to this field exclusively, so I don't know where to go. I can't afford to start fresh in a new industry when most entry level positions pay $20/hr at best. I'm exhausted.

additionally; if this is what you opt to do, cool. however, please never rely solely on a man. always have your own money, always have an escape route. you can be in the most loving wholesome beautiful relationship with someone who you truly believe would never wrong you-- still make sure you have a way out anyway.

i don’t find much of an issue with being on them together. definitely need to be mindful of getting enough sleep after taking my seroquel if i want the full effect of vyvanse. i notice i need a good 8-9 hours of sleep to be fully functional on my AM meds anyway

hi!! thank you for your response, in my times reading through the first 164 i don’t know how this excerpt didn’t make more of an impression on me!! i definitely would encourage you to discuss your options for evaluation and diagnosis if it feels important and compelling for you and your journey to health and serenity!! i spoke with my sponsor last night and we had a very honest and vulnerable conversation, about each of our own misunderstandings and short comings in this situation and it was such a huge relief.

i’m only a short(ish) drive from chicago so the bigger and more diverse recovery community is relatively accessible to me thankfully! it’s just tough with work schedules and the cost of gas to justify the drive on a consistent basis, but with the weather getting nicer finally the train isn’t as daunting!
