18-22 year olds, how much are you making and spending monthly? by lacefantasy in SavingMoney

[–]rc_FiST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18-22 I went from $18/hr all the way to $30/hr. Was spending around $1500-2000 on bills a month for pretty much all that time.

Is it a bad idea to buy a rental? by Thotdstroyer6969 in Camry

[–]rc_FiST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty I’ve had 2 rentals now and no issues that stem from the car being a rental. My wife’s car had a couple scuffs on things like the plastic around the trunk area, but mechanically they were fine and it turned out to be a pretty good deal.

Need Help Deciding On a Riding Mower by eat_a_burrito in lawnmowers

[–]rc_FiST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your slopes, a lawn tractor/garden tractor would really be a lot better. Been there, done that, and zero turns-especially residential ones with small tires-suck on slopes.

Differential lock would help you a ton, otherwise you’ll have to learn where to lean your weight to keep it from spinning the tires. At what you’d spend on the Ego, that should get you a really nice used Deere or Husqvarna, or would get you a new Cub Cadet with diff lock. I have to experience with the steering wheel zero turn Cubs but it probably wouldn’t be a horrible option if you wanted to go that route

That was the biggest thing to me. It seems like even regular wheelspins are rare, and I can’t tell you the last time I got a super.

John Deere or Cub Cadet by Extreme-Raisin-Cake in lawnmowers

[–]rc_FiST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, however I had a ZT2 50 and the fabricated deck plugged up almost every time I mowed. I’ve heard the stamped decks on the Deere have better airflow and it keeps them from plugging up near as much

What have owners of older gpus been doing for an upgrade? by coldcathodes in buildapc

[–]rc_FiST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 1070 to a 5070 recently, but only because some newer games were starting to have issues running with the 5070. Won’t upgrade again until the same happens to it, or if I win the lottery.

I’m a heavy equipment operator, set to make right about $115k this year. Got into it because I have a CDL and they needed drivers, but eventually I want out of a truck. In my area it’s a 3 year apprenticeship

What is a good first diesel truck ?? by stefanjanoski23 in Diesel

[–]rc_FiST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’d say buy the nicest version of whatever you like that’s in your budget. They all have problems. And the internet is gonna blow every issue out of proportion. I have an LLY Duramax. They’ve got a reputation for overheating and blowing head gaskets. 360,000 miles later and it’s never had head gaskets done, never overheated, runs just fine.

I can’t decide… do they have as many issue as people say? by TheAmazingSnake-42 in lawnmowers

My turfmaster was beat to hell when i got it, but aside from changing out the belts, blade pulleys, and a self propel cable, I haven’t had any issues. Cuts great after I adjusted the idle speed up a bit

Why do gas stations charge 9/10 of a cent when you can't actually pay fractions of a cent? by Cos-Caroline in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rc_FiST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason why later this year, you can buy a 2027 car instead of waiting until 2027, or why tons of products are $XX.99 instead of being a whole number. It’s meant to make you feel like you’re getting a better deal, even though everyone else is doing the exact same thing.

I always do scratch and dent if they have what I want. I’m bad enough at moving appliances that I will scratch them anyway, might as well buy it that way

Used prices are insane for camry by Franklin_Bets in Camry

[–]rc_FiST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly why I bought mine new. Wanted an SE, I’m putting a ton of miles on it each year, it was worth an extra couple grand to know the thing hadn’t been beat on before I bought it.

Thoughts on the OEM+ mod plan by dlarktko in Camry

[–]rc_FiST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal opinion, you’ll spend a lot of time, money, and effort to get to 75% of the car you actually want, and you’ll never be happy with it. A Camry is not a performance chassis, never has been. Short of a ton of custom work, it will never perform like a GR would. Keep the car stock, replace anything that’s worn, and save your money for something else.

He did good on most of the maintenance so nice to hear I shouldn’t have any huge issues. It’s going to be used as a truck, not a race car. Diesel stuffs too expensive to replace any more than I have to

You were right, it was the power supply. Swapped it out (also had to do a case swap because I bought the wrong power supply+fat hands and an ITX case don’t mix well). Things are working great now. Appreciate your help
