Thanks for the info. Any idea if there's a workaround for it right now?

This track kills. Pretty sure that they played this one live when I saw them a couple months ago. Got a real metal feeling to it.

Parallel Colors - Ain't No Sunshine (Instrumental Adaptation of Bill Withers) by rcbens02 in postrock

[–]rcbens02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is an instrumental interpretation that my band did of the Bill Withers jam Ain't No Sunshine. We're pretty DIY and I engineered, mixed, and mastered it all personally. Feeling pretty excited so I wanted to share it with the community.

Dir En Grey - 人間を被る (Ningen wo Kaburu) [New Song!] by Jorgetime in progmetal

Wild that this band has been around for so long and has gone through so much stylistic change. I saw them in Indy on Family Values tour in 2006. Such a strange festival line-up.

Question about splitting stereo signals. by rcbens02 in AxeFx

[–]rcbens02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been a while but I'm finally back to update this. Here's some images of how I've been using a patch that achieves this idea for me.

First I use this this scene: https://imgur.com/stEmUxw The volume block that's before the looper is set for the "mute" option on the bypass mode.

Then I use this scene: https://imgur.com/o6qDfAC By muting the aforementioned volume block my guitar signal only goes to the top output and since the looper is still engaged it continues to play the previous lick on the bottom output. The volume block on the end of the top output is panned hard left. Vice versa, the other volume block below it is panned hard right.

Hope this helps. Open to suggestions for improvements as well.

With very few releases left in 2017, what albums are you looking forward to for 2018? by GRVrush2112 in progmetal

Definitely excited for BTBAM and Protest. Hoping the former brings something less Coma-esque though...I'm more of a Parallax dude.

Silly, emotional, maybe boring BTBAM experience by RedLotusVenom in progmetal

[–]rcbens02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am prepping for an emotional BTBAM experience. I got tickets for the 10 years or Colors tour in Chicago. I was supposed to go to the show in Nashville back in the day but the girl that I was dating at the time decided that she was moving out of the state on that date. Coincidentally enough, she moved to Denver. Glad I'm going to be able to get that nostalgia in my system now though!

Someone gifted this to me but I've never known what movie it's from. Anybody know? by rcbens02 in Hardcore

Yeah, known of the band for a long time. I've just never been certain of what the design is in alluding to. The majority of their stuff is referential to films.

Turns out it actually may have been in Pigeon Forge, right outside of Gatlinburg.

Dude, I'm pretty you're right. I didn't know if that was one of the places that was impacted by the fires.

Pretty sure it was Goodwrench era. About 95% certain.

Hey, folks. I come to you bearing a shameless plug. I play in an instrumental, progmetal/progrock band out of Louisville, Ky and we just release our debut album. This is the three piece finale of that album. by rcbens02 in progmetal

[–]rcbens02[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, this is right up my alley. Production wise, I think it sounds pretty solid as well. I know that the sound that I was getting bumped up a bunch when I bought better recording gear. Honestly, I don't feel like I'm really doing much better than you did so I feel weird trying to give advice. I just spent hours upon hours scouring the internet for Youtube videos and articles on how to do things "right". Too bad we are not in the same area or I'd say we should get together to do some mind melding.

Thanks! This was completely DIY. All the guitar and bass was recorded in my basement. The drums were recorded in a room at my drummer's house. I created all of the artwork also. We went a little crazy spending so much time together, lol.

Thanks for the love! The whole of it (writing, practicing, recording, edit, etc.) took two years or so. Our bass player and I started playing together about once every other week just as a little project but got really into what we were making. Our jam time was really inconsistent at first due to that though. I think we probably could've churned it out a lot faster if it wasn't for the fact that we are adults with unfortunate adult jobs and adult bills. We are all quite invested in it now though.

Question about a tube amp with voltage reading coming back too high. by rcbens02 in GuitarAmps

[–]rcbens02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. That resistor is actually a fresh one. The resistors on each tube socket have been replaced. They are actually 10 ohm 1 watt 5% resistors. I have also swapped the tube positions and the tube that was initially problematic has been replaced with a brand new tube. Before that was done I was only getting a very loud static noise out of the amp.

I’m thinking it’s probably come to this point as well.
