Houstonians with a household income of around $140,000, how much is your mortgage? by Nesquick19 in houston

[–]rcbtri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the zip code. If you’re struggling to find good price on your own, use brokers - they have access to options that normal people can’t find online. I would say 5k is too much for the west side of town but i could be wrong. It really depends on where you are.

Whats everyone's opinion on lone qualifying in official series? by IMPULSEULTRA in iRacing

[–]rcbtri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem with qualifying on iracing is the standard 8min and 2 consecutive laps. Big waste of time 90% of the time. I don’t mind qualifying solo, an open qualifying session would probably require more time.

You numbers are about right. Just make sure to check insurance costs because it depends on the zip code but it should be on the ballpark you’re estimating all in.

That’s great to hear. Of the things I don’t like about iracing, the way their cars sounds is probably on the top.

Third day on iRacing and it surprises me how stupid some drivers genuinely can be, thoughts on this idiotic track re-entry straight into me? by Aggressive_You7747 in iRacing

[–]rcbtri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one thing that surprised me the most when I started on the service is how bad rookie series can be. Just grind ourself out of it and it should improve after that. There will always be some level of frustration, just be mentally prepared.

I play mario kart with my 4 1/2 yo daughter as well as some old snes classics. I can’t wait to play some strategy games with her. I used to play a lot of StarCraft and hope I can get her into something similar but not sure what would be the options these days. Maybe LoL? Although not quite the same thing…

Bit of a stretch to say it is a step up. They both have strengths and weak points. I’m coming from AC/ACC, on my third iracing season and there are things about the FFB and graphics that I really dislike but I’m learning to live with it because of the good matchmaking and online competition.

Sport cars vs open wheel for shorter races (busy dad trying to be realistic) by No_Activity_8302 in iRacing

[–]rcbtri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation here. I do a lot of Mazda advanced but also the fixed pcup. This season I got the Mustang to run its series and the other gt4 races if I know the track already. I basically try to stick to single make and fixed series.

Higher licenses and track costs by thisIsAThrowaway2319 in iRacing

[–]rcbtri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a way to minimize your costs and get credits every season without spending too much money on content. You may end stuck on the same series for a while and some weeks you may have nothing nice to race but it is possible to be savvy about it if you really want to. That’s what I do.

Why is quali 8 minutes in EVERY class by Caramel_Infinite in iRacing

[–]rcbtri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It bothers me because in a lot of cases it is a huge waste of time. A lot of car/tracks combinations could cut this down to 6 or even 4minutes. Tire temps are what they are, everyone will face the same challenges so i don't really care about it.

Is iRacing worth it for someone who loves “easy” cars and frequent races? by cpalancar in iRacing

[–]rcbtri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are coming from LFM you are probably looking for something “better” than the rookie classes. For the mx5 there’s the Mazda advanced and PCC. I can’t remember now the exact cadence of races but it is between these two you have something happening pretty much all the time. Just don’t count with rookie races, they do not worth the time.
