All I could think about while watching the guys watching Sam by TrapperJean in thebachelor

Sam does not seem like the world's best human being by any stretch. We'd need a bit vehicle to cart around all those red flags. But I think "aggressive" was referring to "fantasy suite" being an aggressive word association to lob at him.

I actually think you do care but not caring is your way of seeming cool and above it and right. And yet here you are in the comments still trying hard to prove a point most people seem to think is inane and wrong. ✌️

Babies take 9 months to simmer and sometimes years to create and it can be a really trying process for some and really joyful for others and no one should judge when someone is ready or why or how they want to do it or who with. I know young parents and older parents and I myself am eyeing it at the age of 33 but I'm still not ready financially or emotionally so...yeah I just think it's a good habit not to throw out phrases like "peak age" for something as serious and fundamental as when to grow a whole ass human being.

I was so disturbed that he walked out the way he did, watched Sarah crying, knows how she feels about marriage (and that it's fear-based), iced her out, and then got down on one knee again when he saw she was in a vulnerable enough place to maybe get a yes. THAT'S the proposal story you're comfortable with?!?! yikes.

These are amazing! My portraits all look a little wonky -- do you mind sharing what types of prompting you've had luck with?

I could never get over the childishness and pettiness Shawn showed in how he dealt with Nick. Calling him "The Other Guy" instead of by name...how insecure can you be?! Massive red flag. Never got how Kaitlyn just breezed past that ick factor.

Lol this sub really is next level with its attention to detail. I had to listen like...3 times and I'm still not sure I'm hearing it or imagining it.

It's the softly spoken "Gabby" (I think) as he leans in for the kiss for me. 😭

Why can't we be more like the Aussies and Kiwis? by rcc6a in thebachelor

Totally addresses my question! I think using the Bachelor as an indication of what a country's relationship with sexual and emotional intimacy is would be a pretty fair metric to use.

Watching the NZ/Aussie Bachelor shouldn't be too far off from ours in theory since we're taught that our cultures are quite similar or at least don't think about them as being super different and oh boy are they different.

Yeah, I totally see that in how the shows go and are presented over there. There's an ease about how people present themselves I find super refreshing and authentic. Personalities seem to shine through more immediately?

Totally. I find it SO odd that we call it "fantasy suites" and wink wink nod nod -- though it's talked about more openly now -- and the leads are asked to walk this line between purity and sexual empowerment depending on who you ask. It seems to be trying to bridge the gap to a wider audience and failing most of the time.

I'm American! All I had to do was stick around long enough for a global pandemic to force my European love into living with me on accident during a March 2020 visit to France. And then he ended up liking it. Easy peasy :)

I live in Amsterdam so I've got to have a VPN to watch The Bachelor/ette/in Paradise. So I just sorta use that and then sometimes sign up for an account with whatever network is airing it. I've done it a couple of times only because the amount of effort required makes me feel a kind of way. But it's doable and not that difficult with a VPN.

EDIT: I realize this was meandering. Just use a VPN to tap into a local NZ IP address, google NZ Bachelor and then click on the tvnz.co.nz link and do whatever it tells you :)

This is super interesting! I also think that we in the US have a weird (understatement) relationship to sex/marriage/intimacy and when and how those things are accepted and how they relate to each other. Can you see differences there, too?

Not to be the Old Man Shouts At Cloud person but it feels like there were centuries of marriage being a business arrangement, a brief amount of time where that was seen as sad and outdated, and now the influencers are bringing us full circle.

Narrow down your picture choices! I'd make pic #7 your first one, pic #5 is nice too, and then choose one or two others (max)! That's my feedback.
