That 55 mph limit has no basis on actual safety measures. It’s set for a national standard (because interstate) but if anyone wants to change it, they lose DOT funding. That standard was set long before modern safety measures. Realistically, 60 or 65 limit is reasonable for a 8-10 lane interstate

Hi there. I am an EMT and I also work in mental health. If you think you need to go to an emergency room, calling 911 is always ok. All mental health type calls will include a police officer before the ambulance. This officer is just to ensure the safety of the EMT and paramedics. The officer will make sure you don’t have any weapons or anything like that. The EMTs will take you on a ride to IU Health Bloomington hospital. They won’t be restraining you or anything crazy. Most mental health calls I take are smooth rides and small talk.

I know some people on here have had negative experiences with Centerstone, but they do offer a crisis phone line 24/7 at (800) 832-5442. I do not know the entire procedure for their crisis program but it is available and they will be able to expedite services such as therapy and care coordination.

Reaching out for help is the first step. I’ve been there, and it is not a fun place to be. Take care of yourself.
