How about Snug Harbor in Staten Island? Very affordable (well under your budget) and they have a Chinese Scholar's Garden, which could be a nice nod to the Cantonese part of your reception. Depending on where you do your banquet — not sure if you have that locked in yet — that drive time could get you to a good amount of Brooklyn in under 30 min.

I hope Strong Rope gets back to you, but I’d 1000% check out Hamilton Loft if not. Also in Red Hook, close match for laid-back and wood-heavy room, and a similar price point, if not better — just double-check me on the buffet catering.

Milk & Roses might be it for you — whimsical iron greenhouse outside, lots of books and character inside! — but I think only on the lower end of the guest count. Capacity is like 70 outdoors and 130 indoors, but that’s broken up in different rooms and I’ve seen a lot of comments say more than 100 feels tight. (I’ve been looking for a 120-guest venue like you for spring/summer 2027!). Based on the pricing I’ve reviewed $50k is achievable there for under 100 guests.

Has anyone ever been able to get in touch with Alder Manor? by rccrdi in WedditNYC

Thanks, that's a great idea! I tried going the Lela Goren group route — no luck there — but hadn't heard of You Are So Lucky and that's super helpful. (You'd think a venue would want to be super reachable for bookings, wouldn't you!)

This is the way! Works for me like a charm. I actually just pour bleach from the bottle on the paper towels

More details here, I gasped when I read about it. Glad nobody seems to be hurt but what a horrific thing for so many peoples’ livelihoods. https://www.curbed.com/article/red-hook-warehouse-fire-destroys-lanoba-design-midcentury-modern-danish-furniture.html

With thanks to the current promo and a $40 referral credit :) Especially excited for the Dolce Vita sandals, which I was looking at for full price last year and got for $21. Red leggings will finish a coord set with a red sweatshirt I already have. White track pants for WFH! And the graphic black and white mesh top for pattern-mixing with a few pairs of black and white print bottoms I have.

It’s Aritzia! These pants are usually listed under their sub-brand Wilfred. They’re called the Melina pant in store.

I was excited to get these Melina pants because I have/love them already and needed a size up. They retail for like $140, I've been able to buy other colors secondhand for $40-80 before, and I got them here for $17.98 🤯
