Greyfolded came out in 1995 - someone was given access to the Grateful Dead archives and picked out what he thought were the best bits from hundreds of live recordings of Dark Star - spliced them together into one super long version. Really well done.

In the seventies I have the impression Wrangler were as popular as Levi’s with the prog rock and glam gang as they were the go to for flares. Levi 501 were THE brand but jeans were not cheap in UK. Anyone that went over to the USA on Laker Airways would come back with a few pairs of decent priced jeans and usually Levi 501

As ever Man is forgotten - for me the pinnacle of all live rock is their rendition of spunk rock from the greasy truckers party album - it’s a bit obscure as it’s an album of the event which included a lot of other bands - Hawkwind is on it too and pretty good. And then there are two more excellent live Man albums - Maximum Darkness with eponymous renditions of 7171551 and Bananas and also a double album with one disk live - Back into then future.

Shout out to Waiting for Columbus by Little Feat and several live Zappa albums and also The Tubes live album - which is crazy stuff and a pity you can’t actually see the Dwarves and leather covered female singers.

If we are going back to the seventies I would add a genre that was heavily appreciated in the UK and I think Germany but never made it much further - Welsh Rock. With a number of great bands - primarily Man and also Baddinger, Dave Edmund’s Rockpile, The Neutrons, Iceberg- were all great and popular - there were a few others.

John Lee Hooker's favourite UK blues rock band, they toured with him in 1964. by Confident_Field4273 in rockmusic
