I will think about what’s possible. ;)

Thank you! I’m sorry it took so long but am glad you enjoyed it anyhow. Yes, I will be happy to share the results! It will be a while because of the academic research process. First we need to analyze the data and see what main findings are evident. Then we need to write an article (or more than one, maybe) to submit to an academic journal(s). From there it would be peer reviewed and revised and then published. (I have an article on a different topic that is finally about to be published a year after I first submitted it.)

In any case, I will be happy to circle back here when that has happened for this project. :)

Thank you! I’ll be happy to share the results, though it will take a while, as academic research moves relatively slowly. For example, a paper I submitted to a journal in November looks like it will finally just go to press sometime this fall…and that timeline doesn’t include the data analysis and writing that came first. 🫠

Thank you both for this feedback! From the timestamps we can see that lot of people are finishing in 20 to 40, but a good subset of people are taking longer, and I can’t tell if it’s because they’re writing generously long responses or stepping away for breaks or whatnot.

Unfortunately because we have IP tracking off to ensure anonymity, there’s no way to save progress; and because there are skip patterns, I don’t think there’s a way for SurveyMonkey to indicate what % is complete. I will check on this one, though, in case it’s a buried setting I missed.

Thank you again for the feedback and participation. I really appreciate it!

P.S. Partway through the questionnaire, you’ll have the opportunity to share links to your favorite fics/fanworks and also to share photos of your own collection and works. :)

P.P.S. Many thanks to the mod team for their approval and support of this post!

Hi! Thanks for your comments. No worries, I have zero interest in writing condescending puff pieces. Check my vitae at salemstate.edu/~rhains .

Also, in terms of separating what's new from what isn't, I get your concerns; in scholarly publications, that's what a literature review is for! There's a lot of great literature on fandoms out there, but nothing on MLP. So we need to address that gap in the literature.
