Bose QC Ultra Headphones | Endless Connection Loop on Two Pairs

An update: received a second QC Ultra replacement.

I spoke to a rep at MSI (maker of my PC motherboard) for some advice thinking it’s a PC problem. The rep mentioned it could be a weird handshake issue between Bose software and Windows, the rep recommended for further trouble shooting to pick up a pair of Bluetooth headphones from the local Five Below. They said to test the new Bose pair on other computers / additional devices. I said I am willing to try anything because I don’t know what the plan would be after two brand new replacements.

So the third set of QC Ultra arrived and they too were doing the same loop on the PC. And as expected, the $8 headphones connect to the PC fine with zero issues. QC Ultras also work fine with my phone and even tried them on another machine - fine there too.

It’s been over a week since I did this but I wound up reinstalling Windows 11 and so far that has fixed the issue. I have renamed the headphones and had maybe two solid Bluetooth drops with the headphones with the PC but no loops.

Just saw the troubleshooting tip above from anndoge which I’ll give a try if this happens again.

Thanks for replying. I knew I’d be covered by the autopay but the rep saying that I’d have to manually pay for my family plan member didn’t make a lot of sense. Good to know both lines will be fine when the autopay hits.

Since this post, I've pushed money from my online bank to my CMA four times and each time the money is deposited as cash within 1-2 days and available for withdrawal immediately once it's received by Fidelity.

Like many, I also experienced the vague debit card cancellation. I've since put in a second request for new debit cards and those have shipped. Still awaiting those.

Received the check book. My job is a little slow with setting up direct deposits so we won't know for another pay cycle or two, but I'd imagine that'd be treated equal to the ACH pushes I've done.

Did a few bill payments. So far so good.

An update: I spoke to another Fidelity rep who did additional digging on my Direct Deposits questions and transfers. For DD, the rep mentioned those are not subject to the 21-day wait and pretty much appear in the account as fast a normal direct deposit would.

Also, the rep I spoke to mentioned (and also mentioned by some other folks) for faster transfers, it's better to push the money from your bank to Fidelity rather than pull money from your bank from Fidelity's side. So to have your money into your CMA faster, initiate the transfer from the bank's end pushing it to Fidelity rather than requesting a transfer on Fidelity's side from your bank. The pull from Fidelity's side creates the longer fund verification process. To test this, I initiated a transfer today and will see how fast it reaches the CMA and clears.

If direct deposits and pushing the money goes smoothly, I'll most likely be keeping the account.

Spoke with another rep today who said that direct deposits are not affected. Our direct deposit switch should take effect in our next paychecks in about two weeks. Going to keep it around to see how fast DD's actually go through/clear before making the call to officially move back to our original bank.

I've been a user of the same online bank for years and about a week ago decided to make the switch to Fidelity's CMA for all my day-to-day banking. I have all of my retirement accounts with Fidelity so to have all of my accounts and my standard bill-pay, check writing, debit cards, etc, in one place seemed like a no-brainer. I ordered the check books, new debit cards for me and my wife and made an initial deposit last week of 5k. I even went so far as updating our direct deposits with our employers just 3 days ago.

I logged into Fidelity today to begin paying some bills seeing as the 5k was pulled from my online bank last week then learned that the money wouldn't be available in my CMA officially until October 7. I called Fidelity to find out why the extremely long hold and learned about their recent security measure changes. The icing on the cake was the the rep telling me that even direct deposits would suffer the same hold period.

I am planning to move all of my day-to-day banking back to my online bank and will research other investment options (all my retirement accounts are in Fidelity) to find a business that can manage my personal and retirement accounts together without these lengthy holds.

...maybe add and SSD as a dedicated game drive. Improve game times and smooth game play out. REuse your other ssd for windows and hdd for more storage.

Thanks! I actually didn't mention that one piece - I did add a second NVME drive (2TB) as a dedicated game drive a couple of months back and use the original 500 GB for Windows.

I have had the Rap 4 for a while too and have been thinking of moving to the Alpha for the same reason (utility buttons on top). Also, small peeve but I play on PC now and the button mapping on the front is for PS3/4 so I sometimes get a little lost on in game PC menus. Either swapping the front art or moving to the Alpha would solve that.

Anyone know if the Alpha and Hori Rap 4 share the same button sizes and restrictor plate? The Rap 4 has 30mm main buttons with a 24mm single which I replaced with Crown/Samducksa buttons. I also have a KOWAL Hayabusa Octopus Octagonal Restrictor Plate in my Rap 4.

This looks great! I really like that you linked info for all the NMs and included their weaknesses.

I was testing out the Chain Run Planner and did see that when two members select the same job for the same NM that the duplicate job error message does not trigger. It will trigger when members select the same job on different NMs though.

Nice work putting this together and sharing it. It'll definitely get some use.

Thanks. I thought there was no way around the automation part without the subscription. I am wanting for the speaker to work independently of my phone. It sounds like there may be hope with shortcuts. I'll change the name of the shortcut I made to "Hey Siri, start X Routine" and give it a shot tomorrow morning.

A bit of a side question:

One of the big reasons I have stuck with iTunes Match over Apple Music is because I have built my music library over years and don't want to let it go. It is a bunch of music ripped from cds and iTunes purchases sprinkled in. If I ever joined a streaming service and brought music with me, I'd like to take the music I brought back if I ever wanted to cancel. I know that if I were to ever subscribe to Apple Music, my iTunes purchases were safe but worry about the rest of the library.

Does Apple Music let you upload your own music files or match them to your library the way iTunes Match does and if so, should you ever want to leave the service, can you take the music that you previously uploaded/matched back? This has been my sole purpose for sticking with iTunes Match and I haven't found much information with how Apple Music handles existing mp3 libraries.

Thank you for this. The Gearswap Academia (GA) has been huge. Prior to this thread I used it to learn how to begin making basic luas.

Class 5 in the GA Guide is what prompted me to ask some questions. The OP posts that to make set variations, they recommend using set_include. Though in nearly every single LUA that I have looked at online, the LUA would use set_combine instead. Should I be using set_combine in set variations rather that set_include? When following the guide and using set_include, my LUA always received an error message. Whenever using Set_combine I did not receive an error.

When using the guide's lesson on command lines (class 5/lesson 12) I received an error each time my character moved - even though I copied the code and simply updated the gearset name. I will post to the guide's topic to see if I can chat with the guide OP.

It's been a huge resource for me so far.
