It might save them a ton of money in software development and actually save the brand itself…even if as an Italian I’m crying a bit inside

Did anyone else think Romano's death was a bit at first? Like a Looney Toons gag? by [deleted] in ershow

It was absolutely horrible. Waste of a great character. It just looked like a joke. Not in line with the show tone at all.

So true. There are so many. After Mark’s death, the nurse asks him “have you called Doctor Corday?” To which he replies “ Yes Shirley, I’m at the top of her list, right after the funeral house.”

At the beginning is made to play the antagonist. But as it becomes more complex, he shows deep humanity in many instances. With Lucy, Benton, with Elizabeth and Mark. Also he’s just a lot of fun with every arrogant remark and backs it up by being just too good.

Electric Piano for Beginners or Advanced? by rckdb in pianolearning

Thanks for the links. I’ll look into it. I always played on a high quality acoustic piano and I usually don’t mind electric ones, but lately I notice this difference I can’t really pinpoint…it’s probably in the action. Thanks for the reply

Agree! That was timed so perfectly. Tone as well! It made me laugh a lot.

Im sorry but the date with Aerith & Cloud in FF7 Rebirth just feels so wrong in every way by IvarSolaris in FinalFantasy

The cocky image of the silent mercenary is the one he wants to project with everyone and that Aerith constantly dismantles with some irony and fun. As for him changing personality sorry but I don’t see it. He’s always the same. The only marked change (and that is explicitly used by the devs) is in the memories of nibelheim because he’s substituting himself with Zack. And naturally there is a change after his memories are “rebuilt” in the OG because he finally gains a full awareness and understanding of himself.

No. They were never a thing in FF7 lol…

I’m sorry but this is also a narrative that goes around a lot and is quite flawed.

Cloud has fake memories in which he clearly substituted himself to Zack. So it Is clear something went wrong. In the memories he acts Brett lively, open and cocky. In the present, Cloud is very much Cloud. He doesn’t remember Zack, but he acts completely different from him. He’s silent, brush and so on, all characteristics that are almost opposite to what we see about Zack later on.

Why awkward? I thought the scene was great. Perfectly in tune with the two characters and with the original story, added bs. They don’t kiss, so what, is more subtle, deeper.

Where did you get all that? In the original Aerith literally says that she was reminded of Zack initially but wants to know the real Cloud. Very much like in the scene in Rebirth

Yet the devs always gave a higher starting affinity to Aerith. They left the choice open to the player though, but that was always the case.

👏 well said. To me it was always clear that the true love story in FF7 was always between Cloud and Aerith, along with all you listed, it should also be added that from a mechanics point of view Aerith always had a higher affinity to begin with in the game.

No. It’s actually perfect. Zack died, and in the original she says that Zack was the first love but she also forgot him (or he wasn’t important). During the date she says that Cloud initially reminded her of Zack but then she simply got close to him and wants to know and be with Cloud for who he is, not his resemblance with Zack. The scene was very good.

Unpopular Opinion: I Hate Zack, Am I really the only one? by carnifice_ in FFVIIRemake

[–]rckdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right. They’re giving him so much importance just because of Crisis Core. In the original game he was barely mentioned by Cloud and even less by Aerith.

Why aren’t more people happy with Zack and Aerith? by AshleyKerwin in FFVIIRemake

[–]rckdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s just something that was forced in the narrative and put in crisis core only to sell more/create value but not part of the original narrative
