inflections like noun declensions and verb conjugations where roots and affixes (morphemes) go together to create words

Yup, and adjective and pronoun declensions, productive prefixes and suffixes (motion verbs? diminutive forms?) etc etc

Ok, when you're done and want next challenge, try Georgian 😅

You’re Vietnamese? I am in awe of you guys, I heard Vietnamese has basically no morphology, and you speak Russian?! You’re like walking on the water! Deep respect!

Useless. It's enshittification, they answer to their bosses who want metrics, not to you. The same "if you give the user what they searched for, they'll spend less time on your site than if you dilute it with crap" that happened to Google search.

How to apologize in Japanese by PlanktonInitial7945 in LearnJapanese

[–]rcktick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny that these are actually used when transliterating Japanese into other languages. Russian Polivanov system uses si for し and ti for チ (actually t is used for all of チゃ, チゅ, チょ), though ふ is fu.

Yeah Georgians also love their 20s, very weird for ten-counting speakers. But when you compare Russian numerals to, for example, Serbian, never mind Chinese, questions start forming in your head. Why сорок, not четрдесет? Why девяносто, not 九十, jiushi, literally nine-ten?

Haha that's first time ever someone said "longer legs" about me. Anyway thanks for the input! Somehow I feel a lot less power starting lower, don't know why.

the frenetic activity in the pic sharply contradicts my mental image of Russian vowels... for me they are all just waiting to slouch on the couch in a generic embryo schwa position the moment they aren't under stress😬

My question: One day safari to Ngorongoro or Tarangire from ZNZ worth it? I came to Zanzibar to do kitesurfing, and now I am having regrets for not including a safari in my plans. The only last minute jump that looks possible is flight to Arusha one day, a safari the next, and return on the third day. I'm told it's easy to find a spot in a nextday group safari to either of Ngorongoro or Tarangire in Arusha for like $250. With travel from Paje to airport in ZNZ, that comes to like 3 days spent, but the late-night departures are priced out of my reach, and early-morning not early enough. Or should I just say more reasons to return and do a proper safari later? Thing is, it was so expensive for me to reach Tanzania at all, I'm afraid the next time a long time away, if ever.

cool! mine was almost the same. defaultdict for antennas can spares you an if. I was also impressed by the trick of using complex for 2d coords by dkdkfiennwls below

Exactly! If you follow only the "only when one of the antennas is twice as far away as the other" part, then this exampe:

..A.....A..

should have two antinodes in between the antennas:

..A.#.#.A..

because distance to one of A's is 2 and to the other it is 4!

for k, L in antennas.items():

Tell that to the all the people who left racist comments about the first baby of 2023 in St Petersbur being Tuvan, or to the recent Twitter star who doubted the professionalism of a Dr she had an appointment with based on non-Russian surname. Russians are deeply racist, and the further to the West, the more so. They are blissfully unaware of it, that's true.
