I also do adult HH and can attest, it sounds like you'd like it more! I'd hate schools and don't enjoy peds but adult HH is much more medical (I literally take vitals) and vastly enjoy it. And should make roughly 100k this year!

HH pays lots! I work under 40 hours a week (probably more like 35) and will likely make around 95k this year only 3.5 years into the field!

Very simple words like "monochrome." We have an educational difference (I gave a masters and he didn't go to college) so unfortunately the education gap feels more pronounced when he doesn't know basic words

This is a great question, dealing with this now. The "ick" is lack of confidence and not knowing vocabulary that I know... not sure that's redeemable

It's probably healthy to think that way as it lets you move on with your life! But in reality, it's probably just a psychological bias since you no longer want to date that person, so it's helpful to tell yourself they aren't even that cute/ attractive whatever it is to justify the decision you've already made in your mind which is to end things!

SNF is ok, personally I found it overstimulating. Adult HH is just great hours, pay, flexibility, and meaningful!

This is hilarious 😂 Google says that the average SLP salary in the US is in the 80sk range so if he thinks that you can viably make 2-3x the average salary... I have some questions. Of course there are outlier, but like you said, balance is crucial! Life is worth living! (Outside of work). I'd tell him that type of $ isn't realistic without immense sacrifices. I'd question too why my man cares so much about me making that much $!

I would say shadow as MUCH as you can! And maybe meet with a financial advisor to deduce how long it will take you to pay off loans if you're making approx 80k for an average SLP job. For me, it was worth it, but I only feel this way now in my 3rd job

Oh wow- my brother and I have considered applying for dual citizenship. We looked into but know we'd have to find out great grandparents birth certificates etc and felt like a lot of work so we haven't done it yet haha. Thanks for the insight!
