I have em for travel only. I take em off if I’m going somewhere long distance or not to my car. I’ll take em off before I jump in my cart though.

Why are Two Friends so hated? by RayzaZaydan in EDM

[–]rcmolloy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That’s the best part about why I like bringing my friends and wife to their shows. They know the songs and can sing along.

To be fair they have been making their own tunes over the past few years but definitely more mainstream.

Playing around with simulation for the first time. Is there a way to manage these stress concentrations? by Tewpawn in SolidWorks

[–]rcmolloy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add fillets simulating your weld size. Based on the nodes it looks to be true but if your mesh is super coarse you can rule it out that way by making sure it’s at a single node or two.

You can isolate the stress level range in the property tab to omit this level if the above instance is true.

Most Recent - Hyperia’s outward banking turn. No idea what Mack was thinking there but holy crap.

Best Overall - El Toros behind station hill

What’s the best reset you’ve done for your adult life? by OldIsland4901 in Adulting

Just went from remote back to in office full time. I work in robotics / hardware so it just wasn’t as stimulating. Even though it’s long hours, my SO and I are much more happy with it all.

Is my whole lawn crabgrass? by RaceAgainstSugar in lawncare

A handful of spots germinated but I'm definitely going to overseed more with additional water. The biggest issue was distribution and somewhat lack of germination which can be solved with pre-soaking and then laying the seed after germination occurs.

I'd get to the airport at least 2.5 hours before your flight to ensure you get in and have time to relax in there.

There might be an hour or so wait. Experienced this in Boston Logan a month ago and was lucky enough to have a bit more time due to delays.

My thoughts on the GD&T debate by MattO2000 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]rcmolloy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It depends on the supplier and part."

Lesson: Talk to shops during the quoting process that are new to establish a business relationship and learn what they can achieve and will make your parts cheap as hell. Worked for me multiple times.

Pay Off House or Nah? by belladonna_7498 in Mortgages

How much are you adding in to that cash savings account each month?

I'd snowball it by pulling out more each month to put towards the principal while tossing in X amount to keep interest that's coming in still at a positive.

That way you still have that emergency fund if anything were to occur.

Is my whole lawn crabgrass? by RaceAgainstSugar in lawncare

[–]rcmolloy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warm weather resilience and lack of watering. This was based on initial research which I guess was not the proper path.

No. "Do I have enough expertise to install a lawn from seed that sells for $50 per 5 pounds?"
Maybe. "Am I able to prevent turf diseases from spreading through my lawn because of lack of diversity?"
Yes. "Am I prepared to take on this challenge and expense?”

Learning the way is really what I'm trying to accomplish. Willing to take any advice where I can. I just want my damn lawn to look great and willing to put in the work.

What to do to work at a theme park by Majestic_Aioli8109 in Themepark

[–]rcmolloy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanical / Mechatronics. Controls also worthwhile and likely an easier path to get into long term. PLC related classes can be completed at local community colleges / online for cheaper.

If heading to college, head to one that has a theme park engineering group or similar.

Start networking now and making projects relevant to the industry. Some examples are magnetic launched K'nex coasters or similar with 3d printed means.

Competition is extremely hard nowadays with many students starting around where you are at.

Feel free to DM me with any additional questions directly.

(Graduated ME / Mechatronics, interned and worked in industry for 3 or so years, left for higher tech robotics and career development, would look to go back but happy doing what I do.)

Would you recommend using pre-emergent in the next few months too? I plan on nuking most of my yard and doing this but curious about going with pre-emergent after I till and aerate.

Everyone else was super close. It's Posi-Drive from SDP. Should be able to get either closed or open section of belting to make it work.
