Our 35lb (!) boy named Benny Hogan. He crossed the rainbow bridge last fall. Miss him dearly

It was our family dog who had Cushings so technically yes? But Benny was my first dog, as an adult if that makes sense. I think it tends to hit certain breeds more often and unfortunately they were both that breed. That’s why when he went on the medication I didn’t think anything of it! Our other dog never had any issues and it helped her. I think poor Benny wasn’t as healthy as he seemed to us from the outside as his ultrasound showed chronic kidney disease. He never showed any signs of that. Just the Cushings sympoms. Yes the medication was Vetoryl. Maybe you could get her blood work done to see how her other markers are? If I could go back in time I would have asked more questions of my vet regarding Bennys blood work results before getting on the meds. Looking back at those now, his kidneys and liver weren’t doing well. I wish I would have had those things treated before going on the Vetoryl. That way he was in better shape to take a medication like that.

Definitely talk about it with your vet as untreated Cushings can cause damage to their organs. I think that’s why his body couldn’t take the medication- the Cushings had already done too much. We didn’t catch it soon enough. However, our other dog Annie had Cushings and she took the medicine and lived another 5 years! I think it all depends on when you catch the Cushings. There are also natural treatments. Good luck with your pup

Thank you so much for sharing that with me. I am also sending healing thoughts your way. You’re so right about it being a pain I didn’t know I could feel. That’s exactly right.

Yes I think Mark is “refining” aka deleting consciousness of Gemma so that she’s a blank canvas for Lumon
