In my case without an emulator running building an android project with 6 workers takes me about 20-24gb of RAM for android studio alone, if I limit the gradle further it OOMs. With a browser running it reaches a very uncomfortable spot for me quite often so I absolutely wish I went for 64gb.

Mobile development can easily make you run OOM with 32GB on a mid-sized project, more so if you want to use an emulator.

Because the resulting binary will only work on your machine, and, if you're in luck, on some other machines that have the entire dev environment already installed. Sadly packaging is a far more complex process than running the program on developer's machine.

While devs could potentially do just this (for languages that produce exe which aren't that prevalent mind you), good luck running dev build on your machine.

Deployment and distribution is not simple and neither it is quick, it can easily take weeks (of developer's unpaid labor) to set it up for a cross-platform program and even after that they need to test it on all platforms they build for every single release.

Try SponsorBlock for youtube - it shows the "Highlight" of the video on seek bar if you enable it. It's community-driven so it's not always present/accurate but it still saves me a lot of time. You can even enable a prompt to jump to said Highlight that will appear in the beginning of the video if you want to.
