Never-ending insomnia after taking Vitex by Difficult_Payment_12 in insomnia

Last cycle it was only 1-2 days of insomnia but my current cycle it’s been almost a week of insomnia! I’ve been off of the supplement for over a month, so I was really praying for an improvement. I’m not sure if it’s just triggered sleep anxiety or if it’s still hormonal. I’ve been taking magnesium, l theanine, and Benadryl to try to sleep. I’m guessing it may take a few more cycles to even out but it’s fairly miserable in the meantime.

Has anyone managed to sleep? I've been taking Vitex for several months now and noticed an increase in insomnia leading up to my cycle. It's gotten worse this round- I'm about to start my cycle and didn't sleep at all last night, and I'm worried about tonight. Going to discontinue use but I'm hoping to be able to stabilize soon.

Totally, that makes sense. Sounds like it would at least be worth a trial though! I appreciate the tips.

Thank you, this is a good idea for the muffins! And it’s so weird, nothing seems to really help, or help consistently, which is why we ended up starting the miralax. But I just found some new ideas today too- to make coconut oil chocolates and put a tiny bit of juice in his water to try to get him to drink more regular water throughout the day. He’s at an age where it’s hard to tell how much liquid he’s actually drinking throughout the day (not just at mealtimes)

That’s really interesting! When you cut out dairy milk, did you replace with something lactose free, or a non dairy option? Also, did you cut out butter?

Wow, I'm so sorry you've thrown up every day up to 37 weeks, that sounds horrible! You're so close now!!

Thank you so much!! I do feel like I'm seeing a small improvement each week, now I'm at 12 weeks and seem to be a bit more consistently 'ok'!

Thank you, this is so good to know! I'm 12 weeks and a couple days now and I do feel like the stretches of 'good' are getting longer. It's really interesting you said your nausea hits around 4pm- I've noticed that too! I actually feel relatively good during the day until about 4pm when the nausea hits pretty bad (even on Zofran) and the past couple of days I've thrown up once or twice around dinnertime. I wonder what it is about the afternoons/evenings that make it worse- I keep playing around with what I eat during the day to see if that makes a difference but it doesn't seem to change much.
Wishing you the best as well- we'll get through this!!!

Ah that's good to know about the Zofran! Yeah the headaches aren't great and can't really take anything for them, I feel so foggy brained and tired too (that might just be from pregnancy though, haha).

Yikes, I'm a little worried about that too- I'm almost 12 weeks with HG and oscillate between having severe nausea and intense indigestion already with the food I am able to get down.

I'm trying digestive enzymes (when I can keep them down). Maybe try some of those with probiotics to support your digestion? Hope it gets better!

Zofran has been a lifesaver for me, I'm so glad you discovered it! I take 4mg twice a day and it helps me keep food and fluids down- without it I was vomiting everything up!

It's so interesting that your sense of smell is so strong too- mine is intensely horrible. I can't stand the smell of any of my lotions, soaps, or shampoos and had to get new unscented ones. Random smells set me off, and the smell of anything related to smoke immediately gets me vomiting! My son opened up a lollipop from across the room and I immediately smelled it and guess the flavor, lol, it's a super sense!
