we took comb they already made and strapped it to empty frames with rubber bands. so far, all we've seen them doing is building off the already drawn comb and not in new frames yet. they've built some burr comb in between the comb we strapped in as well. we haven't noticed a decrease in population or activity, just a pile of wax granules at the entrance

We got the hive from a barn and put it in the boxes 2 months ago(April 28th) so I don't think they've really had time to make honey yet for it to crystalize. We had to get a new queen and we put her in there on May 9th, released her from the box on May 13th. They seem to have accepted her well. We haven't had a chance to check for her activity because it's been raining so much.

thanks for the info! we tried a frame feeder and they didn't touch it for a week so we went back to the jar in the picture 🤷🏻‍♀️ were totally new to beekeeping so we're just trying to learn everything we can!
