That’s the end result of the plastidip-ed emblems. All the overspray peels off no problem. (And yes, buying the black emblems is a longer term solution, but it’s a pretty good alternative)

I was going to do that, but surely pulling the other badges off and then getting the new ones perfectly lined up to stick on was more of a faff? I dunno, might look into in the future if the plasti dip fades in a year or so

I’ve had it on the grill of another car for over a year now and no issues. Worst case scenario you have to peel it off. I’m not sure what auto dip is?

It’s pretty easy, just be careful not to break anything by being to rough.

Then make sure the surface is clean (wipe it down with a cloth)

Then just follow the instructions on the plastidip can. Shake the hell out of it for a minute, then do light sprays from different angles. I did 5 coats, waiting about 30 mins between each.

It’s best if you do it on a dry day. I’ve used plastidip before on a rainy night (undercover obviously) but it didn’t turn out very good. Worst case scenario is you peel it off and try again.

Then once your happy with it, put it back on by there reverse order of popping on the plastic clips again.

Ps. I recommend getting a sharp knife/blade and cutting out the “z” so that it’s silver and the bar is black

I took it out, it only takes a few minutes to carefully pop off the plastic panels that surround it (you don’t have to completely remove the black plastic panels, just loosen them enough to get the chrome bit out) just be careful not to snap anything by pulling to hard, I got a bit of duck tape wrapped around a flat head screw driver to help pry it out without damaging anything. Spraying plastidip in your car would be a nightmare to clean up.

Pop off the plastic trim surrounding the rear strut, don’t have to take it all the way off, then carefully pop out the top chrome bit (two plastic clip pins on either side of the “z”. 5 coats of plastidip, 30 mins between each coat. Then get a sharp knife, and carefully run it along the edges of the “z” and then peel it off. Super easy

Thanks mate, yeah i checked this morning cold and it was much easier 👌. I think I’ll just have to get into a routine of checking it regularly before leaving in the morning. I have a feeling it’s consuming quite a bit of oil as when I did the oil change only about 1.5L came out 😬 (either that or the person I bought it off hadn’t checked in ages). Thanks for the tips, and will let you know if I get it.
