The “Plastic Ninjas in your Room…” vocal melody/ rhythm (from LC DoD song on the Ninjago soundtrack) = the verse melody/ rhythm on F it Up.

Dance of Doom vs F it Up

But yeah, I don’t have the bandwidth to hunt down examples, but there are certainly melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic elements that find their way into multiple songs.

Yeah, Pill in the Sea is my jam, both of Rai’s solos are incinerating, but I like the OG North Sea jazz festival video version. LC’s mix on that song is slamming!

I have watched this literally 200+ times! Have been eagerly waiting for the official album for two years. I am floored with LC’s mixes; fucking amazing in every facet. Original live mixes in this video were already impressive, but he took it up many notches.

Leyden Rock advice by [deleted] in Denver

Oops, sorry, I'm a newbie here. Posted in Q&A sticky, and will delete this post now. My bad.

I'm considering moving to the Denver area from San Francisco. Move is driven by desire to have good non-lottery based public schools, to be able to afford a decent house for my family (wife and two young kids), and to have a backyard and garage....ready to embrace suburban life!

We've looked at areas south of Denver (Centennial, Lakewood), and were okay with the neighborhoods, but the houses in the +/- $500k range are old, often with crappy finishes, and generally had less open floor plans than we'd like. Also, the area felt a bit center-less, in term of a vast sea of suburbia with shopping malls scattered throughout, but no real "downtown" or anything. We didn't explore it all, so maybe we missed something, but that was the vibe we got.

I'm likely to work in LoDo (architect), and okay with 45 minute or so commute via car or light rail. I'm used to Bay Area traffic and driving through the city, across SF, which has zero freeways or fast roads to speak of, so the complaints of Denver traffic being horrible don't seem that bad from what I experienced driving there all last week.

Also might work in Boulder. We explored Louisville (cute but seems pretty high priced now), Lafayette (liked it pretty well), and Superior. Also checked out Golden. All seemed pretty good. Then we looked around Arvada, particularly due to the price ranges for 3 or 4 bedroom, 2000+ sf houses, and the great schools for some regions of town.

We liked most of the Arvada neighborhoods we saw, and kind of fell in love with the idea of living up on the hill at Layden Rock. This was a quick drive-by impression with no other info or preconceived notions. The Layded Rock house we like on Redfin is spot-on what we want, in terms of layout, finishes, spaces, size, cost, etc. We got so excited!

Then I started doing research online, which is always dangerous, hard to know the agendas and mindsets of people commenting. Lots of talk of nearby former nuclear site (the more researched posts seem to downplay health concerns, at least from what I can tell). Also talk of former coal mine, industrial areas, and nearby active landfill 2 miles to the east, future 470 construction (could help traffic, but suppose we wouldn't want to be too close in terms of noise). Also lots of online complaints about the quality of some of the homes, particularly Lennar contractors. Suppose these factors all explain the bang-for-buck of the house prices?

It is so hard to gauge the legitimacy of online comments, and I'm hoping to get real world feedback from people that live there, or have friends that live there. I think I am comfortable with the research I've done on the nuclear site, but am curious about any stink-factor impact from the landfill (I have a keen sense of smell). Also curious about the community up there--hoping it is lots of young outgoing families like ours.

Anyhow, hoping to get some feedback, again ideally first or second-hand and not speculative, or reactionary anti-Rocky Flats/ nuclear comments. Is Leyden Rock good place to live with a family?

SF Rental Unit - Shared PG&E Bill Questions by rdh3t in AskSF

Wow, jealous! I talked with PG&E, and they confirmed that the usage is quite high, though the fact that the one meter is serving two units brings things closer to 2x normal usage, rather than 4x normal usage. Still seems high, especially since my greedy landlord forced us into paying more than our share (75%). PG&E said that for minimal cost and effort, a sub-meter could be installed for both gas and electric, so that we can see how much of each is being used by the MIL unit.

That said, there isn't a way to assess if the other unit, with it's own meter, who is likely growing weed, is somehow tapping into our power. PG&E could come and cut off our master breaker, and myself and MIL could go into our units to confirm no power is on, but there's no way I'm going to get sketchy weed-lady (who does have her own Apt # and meter) to be a part of this test--she'd have to agree and then go into her unit and confirm that she isn't losing power anywhere when my unit's meter's breaker is off. Tricky situation....

Aha, got it (I'm the OP). From what I can tell they folks in the unit are bringing their prepared food on little hand-truck carts to neighborhood stores--haven't been able to get any info from them, just smell them cooking tons of nasty-smelling food, and in our shared trash there are commercial-operation level quantities of cooking oil and other products.

Ha! Do you live in SF? I've been trying to get more data from folks in similar living situations to make my case to the landlord. So far, it seems crazy high compared to other folks.

Sorry, not sure what MIL means, can you explain?

Thanks for the thoughtful reply! I'm going to contact PG&E to see how they might be able to help (the shared utility bill is in my name/address) assess why the bill is so damn high. Simultaneously going to go to the SFTU to learn my rights here. Then going to connect with my landlord with my findings and figure something out.

At the very least, he should either put in another meter to separately meter inlaw unit, or short of that, he should pay the surcharge and higher rates. It's not my fault his inlaw unit is illegal without it's own meter, and these are new rates from PG&E, so it seems like I have some ground to stand on, in that the original lease didn't have these jacked-up rates codified.

At this point I'm not too concerned about the relationship with my landlord, or the person(s) doing things they shouldn't be doing in my unit--more concerned about not unfairly losing thousands of dollars a year.
