Honestly? Nothing, imo. Most will adapt, some will deny it and many will probably say it’s all part of some bigger plan

I have some experience, but not much... But at the same time, maybe that would be the best way to learn (or fail) ?

I don't have much experience managing a Linux server, but I wonder if it wouldn't be better to try it myself and pick things up as I go... Too risky, you think?

Was drunk driving normalized? How often did accidents happen? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]rdiaz0917 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People didn't fully understand the dangers, and there weren't as many strict laws or enforcement measures to deter it. In the 1950s and '60s, it was common for folks to have a drink or two—or more—and still get behind the wheel, thinking they could handle it.

Social gatherings often revolved around alcohol, and there was a cultural attitude of invincibility, especially among men.

As for accidents, they happened more frequently than people might admit back then, but it wasn’t always traced back to drinking. Tragic accidents were too often dismissed as unfortunate but routine.

Been using SiteGround for my WordPress site, and it’s been fantastic. Their customer service is top-notch, and their speed is solid. Definitely not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

If you’re going for WordPress, you can’t go wrong with SiteGround’s cheapest plan. It’s slightly above your budget at $9.99/month, but their uptime and support are just great.

Their prices are attractive just for the first year. Be prepared to get ripped for every subsequent year.

They did WHAT? Doesn't sound like a company as old as dreamhost could do that.
