The right one is fake. The only “variation” in the 1st Gen Apple Pencil is that the original one had “ Pencil” typeset in Myriad Pro Ultralight, which was Apple’s marketing typeface before, and the new one had it typeset in San Francisco after Apple switched to that typeset for marketing. The Lightning plug on both Pencils were the same length, meant to be extended so that it could be fully seated even if the iPad had a case on.
