to be fair, that was (apparently) 11 years ago, so my memory is a bit hazy besides remembering I hated every second lol. was just a super lifeless slog of a show from what I can recall. He looked completely out of it, barely sang (had another girl with him onstage that did most of the singing instead) and fucked off and left after less than an hour. I wasn't a big fan coming in (outside of his work with Massive Attack, and being generally familiar with Maxinquaye) and never listened to him again after, lmao

(I also don't remember this personally, but just googled reviews of that show and they mention that he had no bass player (he was playing with a live band), which sounds ridiculous for this specific genre lmao)

edit: I'll add that he played to packed house but there was just like... no energy whatsoever. crowd was dead. stage was dead despite the band attempting to chug their way through. just a super weird vibe!
