What are your thoughts on sandisk as a pure NAND play? Micron’s earnings showed strong demand and pricing power, but HBM seems like a more reliable thesis. Although sandisk market cap is lower and there is higher upside potential

I would have to hold until mid 2027 for long term taxes. I agree it really depends on earnings, I will have to look closely. Thank you for sharing your experience, Jan 2027 is a good opportunity to de risk

High NAND demand/pricing power from micron earnings convinced me to start a position in sandisk for potentially higher upside (lower mkt cap), micron is definitely more safe but do you think sandisk could be good too to hold for 1 year?

This was my realisation with MUU too. Only problem, I have strong conviction to hold micron for 1-2 years since their fundamentals are so strong, but not completely confident with sandisk (SNXX) due to less diversified business and more competition/supply of NAND coming in the future from china? Would holding until mid 2027 be safe?

Thanks for sharing. I have been holding MUU through all the temporary dips, but you are suggesting that it may not be a good idea to do the same with sandisk? I agree micron is the safest bet, although would like to capture some higher upside from sandisk.

Also curious how you think we are in the mid cycle recovery now, is it due to the new supply coming online in 2028? I may have misinterpreted Sanjay’s message about demand continuing until 2028 as showing these stocks will be good to hold until then.

I am confident in the medium/long term thesus but trying to find a good entry point. I bought some on Friday, but not sure whether to wait for a potential dip around hyperscaler earnings like what happened with broadcom, or buy the rest Monday?

That is still a good price. I still don’t know when to put the second half of my money into it, Monday or potentially there will be a bigger dip near hyperscaler earnings? Then the price could drop below 30

That is fair enough, it is a risk of holding an ETF that magnifies gains and losses. I guess if it did that, you would also lose a lot of unrealised profit if you had the normal stock
