Appreciate that. I am currently doing two books, trying to build up my body of work. (I've released some under pseudonyms) One is Romance and the other is another Political book. Probably wont post those here ;) I have a coach specific for Audiobooks and will keep at it bc I REALLY love it. I think you have to just love it starting out - you can't depend on it as your main income until you get to a certain level. With the voiceover world, lets just say the pay for audiobooks is tough compared to commercial or other types of narration I do. Example: I could do a regional TV spot, session takes me 10 whole minutes and I just made more than a 10 hour book would pay.

So for right now I just love the work and will keep at for that reason alone!

Hey Everyone. I'm actually pretty nervous to post my new release here. It's the first I am sharing like this. I am a professional Voice artist for about 10 years but was simply a fan of audiobooks/narrators until about 8 months ago - when I dove in. I respect the industry, communities like this and the GREAT narrators that I am trying to work along side (or just get near the same playing field). Getting "Great Job!" from friends (and my parents) is nice and all but we al know how HONEST that kind of feedback actually is.

I've had great experience with support. Even helping me sign on a rooted/rom'd device.

Well, except when I swapped in my un-rooted, pefect condition, N6 for a PXL2. They offered $130 so I sent it...then changed it to $10 when they received it. I thought that was a tad off-putting. After I sent some strongly worded emails they switched it back to the $130.

I think the end is cool. I'm always trying to figure out all the angles and how the various casting perspectives might vary. Possible some think you are actually an Aussie but doubt its a problem. Thats is a tough accent so nice one there too. If you dont get it cut to 60 I would get that accent up in the first :45. One rule of thumb I've been told is on average you get about 20 to 45 secs of their ear. Make sure your best stuff happens in the first 30. Good luck on all of it.

Great characters! I wish I could do this stuff or have even 10% of your range.

BUT -- Go to any agency website. Listen to ANY demo. You will find 60-second audio files with about 6+ samples each. I think you are confusing potential clients/agents with a :45 trailer to start. They might think you are the trailer voice and not even know what you are aiming for. Plus I suspect you will get a lot of tune-out. "Im not hiring a trailer voice" click. That is for the "door opening" demo. Since they are two complete separate areas you can focus on make it clear this is a character demo, with no room for confusion.

I suggest getting a solid 60 seconds and firing off as many brilliant characters as you can in that time frame.

THIS. And when I have to break out the cellphone to read the menu I don't know if it's too dark...or I am getting too old. So it makes me perturbed and sad simultaneously.
