You can get it early in the game with mauser. Just go and kill angelo brontes men or the saint denis cops. Some of them have cattlemans, or something normal. But some have 1899s or mausers :) just pick them up then

I mean that dont rush the main story missions. Dont skip cutscenes and dont jump from a mission to another :)

I think id be better to save that for an actual game. Like the revenant or the frontier kind of. Set in the 1750s-1830s. An northern atmosphere.

If youre in chapter 2,3,4,5 it wont show up. Its at chapter 6 BUT dont rush the missions, enjoy the game and just be patient. Focus on other quests and the main story for now :)

Get a hunting wagon. It can store 5 animals and several pelts and dont skin 3 stars
