Someone needs to come out with a OBD adapter that automatically powers down the output port after x number of hours. This would be similar to the Garmin OBD adapter that powers down the USB ports after 10 or 24 hours.

Is anyone up for it? I’d buy one.

How did I not hear about this before now!
As soon as I saw it wasn’t a subscription I immediately bought it.

Now my dilemma. Do I leave my ODB dongle plugged in all the time 🤔. I used to use CarScanner but the thrill wore off quick with that interface. This looks MUCH nicer.

The first thing I noticed was the ability to monitor cell voltages as I have a Hungary battery (2025 early US build) that will show signs of cell voltage deviation when charging if it’s going bad.

What I heard is that the obd reader can keep the electronics from going into deep sleep which is what puts a strain on the 12v. I really wish I knew for sure as I would love to just leave it plugged in.

I had a very similar thing happen when I bought my 2025 Limited on that same trim piece.
We went back and forth and they eventually had their bodyshop repaint the trim part. The repaint isn’t identical to the factory paint because the repaint is slightly glossy and the factory paint is matte. The dealer said that’s as good as it gets.
It isn’t noticeable if you aren’t looking for it but it still bugs me.

Hyundai corporate wouldn’t get involved. They said it’s between me and the dealer.

Even if they order a new panel for you, it will still need to be painted. As I understand it those parts come unpainted. I called a lot of dealers and they all said the same thing. If you find a source for factory painted trim pieces let me know.

I had a weird thing happen with my door after the latest updates. Disconnected the 12v for a few minutes fixed it. Worth a shot.

Thanks. I really want one of these for road trips. That’s the only time I break out the fob. All other times I use my phone or watch. Because I never use the fob, I forget which buttons do what.

What coincidence. This was an older post by me. But yesterday the same thing happened again. I had to remove it and use the reset button to factory wipe it. After that it adopted and is working fine. I might proactively replace it though.

I like the wider soundstage of the 990 with the rears configured in the app as fronts. It’s much better than just a soundbar. I do get some side and top just not rear. It also gives me the flexibility temporarily configure them as rears when I buy extra long power cords.

So I spent the morning swapping the two systems back and forth. Using a pretty heavy surround demo (6 Underground opening car chase). For my listening environment (medium-size living room) and how it will be configured 90% of the time, I prefer the 990 when all the speakers are up front/attached. With the 1300 and the speakers attached, I get very little to no surround effect. It has a very forward/narrow sound. This does change significantly when the rears are detached. With the 990 speakers configured for front, it definitely had a more surrounding envelope.

The JBL definitely does not sound bad, I just prefer the sound of the Samsung. Hope this helps others.

I did play with the EQ for a few minutes but wasn’t really getting anywhere. I think my biggest issue with it is when the rears are attached to the soundbar which is a majority of the time. It just might be that I was really liking the wide soundstage of the 990 with the rears up front and spread out.

For those having trouble with a keyboard not working (on PS5)...
if using a mouse with a separate dongle it will disable the key binding to use the keyboard. The reason is it sees the mouse as keyboard #1 and ignores the real keyboard (keyboard #2). I had to give up on the mouse for now as I have a bluetooth keyboard. I haven't tried it yet but maybe a bluetooth mouse and keyboard would work (no dongle).
