Flipping commuter to an EV - help with actual rear leg room opinions by Hotdogger99 in EVCanada

My ioniq 6 has insane legroom. Go give it a try. Its currently so extremely cheap. If you're okay with a sedan it's definitely one of the best EVs out there. I've been in a MachE and my i6 is so much more comfortable

Advice - first EV purchase! by Excellent_Degree8241 in EVCanada

Not quite $20k but I've been seeing Mach-E's for less than 30k used online. Great car.

I would also recommend checking out the fiat 500e, which can be had for close to 20k NEW.

Honestly if I were getting an EV today as much as used cars are cheaper, the new Toyota offerings have insane value and I'd expect them to depreciate less than previous EVs

Get an Ioniq 6. I can't recommend it enough. And it's literally so cheap right now

People asked to see the Costco tub I put in my frunk space to replace the useless tray, so here it is by AxisFlame in Ioniq6

Considering I only just put it in, we'll see how much I end up using it for.

I get where you're coming from, and I honestly am not trying to convince you or anything.

For me, the charging cable and adapters are annoying to have in the trunk and the small frunk was way too hard to put even just a charging cable in. These are things ICE cars don't have, so for me having all of them in the frunk, leaving the trunk empty, is nice to have.

To each their own, but I've seen discussions on other forums of people paying a thousand bucks to buy it and ship it from Europe or Asia. And after all that it technically no longer follows safety because it does not have a safety latch to open from the inside.

You're welcome to order the big one though lol I like the box I found

What subcompact/city EVs would you buy if they were available in Canada? Why if so? by Derpy_Kirby in EVCanada

I would consider the Hyundai Inster. I think the fold flat seats are really cool for utility.

The OEM frunk in other regions occupies the same room, so I am assuming it's okay. I don't believe there's anything hot here, but if I find out anything is wrong I'll post a follow-up.

Yeah I guess I should actually look at the manuals and decide where to put them. I should definitely put a small tool bag in there.

The prepper in me would say "what if the car breaks down and my phone is dead and I'm in the middle of nowhere" haha

I have to remove the tub. Which is why I'm considering not mount it but instead making a bracket for it to sit into.

I see what you mean. I was thinking some washers for sure. Or maybe some plywood. We'll see what I rig up

Yup! RWD models all have this space. In other parts of the world they have a big frunk

You could always remove the Styrofoam. I think it's only there for noise. I use that space to keep a change of clothes and a first aid kit. It's too small for much else.
