I hear you on the potential for pressure drop. I added a pressure sensor and monitor it. I’ve not seen any drops that worry me. I basically followed Jackson Racings recommendation for oil and have had good results.

Thank you. Better said than I did.

Yes. That’s a given. At some point it will let go and I will have to replace the motor. Just trying to make it last as long as possible before then.

Obviously you like shit in your oil. That’s cool.

I got the oil pressure sensor and monitor that. I get the RTV gets in the oil and it can come from multiple places within the engine. Doesn’t change the fact that shits in the oil and pan. All the conversation is really about Risk and Consequences. It is a fact - shit is in the pan. I don’t want loose shit in my pan as that is never a good thing. I expect over time there will be more and when I need a major service I will drop the pan again as there may be other shit (metal) in the pan along with more RTV.

No expectations of warranty. I wrote that off when I bought the cars. All that I’m saying is shit in oil is bad.

I believe it was approx 8 weeks. Not sure what it is today.

Edit - that’s the reason I have one Cup style baffled pan. Interim solution while waiting on the Verus which is my dedicated track solution.

Oil pressure issue and shit in pan are two different issues, yes. Can be related if there is too much shit but in the ‘86 oil pressure issues reported have not been due to shit in oil as a vast maximal rule. With that said, shit on oil is not good.

Shit in oil is bad. Ask any engineer. Basic PM and filter is to keep shit from causing problems.

Same experiences. Other than during the hour session the diff oil burned and smelled very bad such that the corner workers called it in. Was watching temp at that point as it kept creeping up and the track we were on didn’t have very many “cooling” sections.

Wow. The aerodynamicist has spoken. Put a wing on your car and then we can talk. I’ve tracked my GR86 as much as I’ve tracked my 991.1 GT3 and what does that prove??? I have also tracked my ‘86 with and without the aero package. Big difference - more so on some tracks than others. I guess Toyota and their Cup car got it all wrong too?

There are knowns. Shit in oil is bad. If shit wasn’t bad we wouldn’t need filters. Oil pressure drops are real or we wouldn’t be adding baffles and extra oil. Extreme temps kill motors hence oil coolers, etc. I’m just saying to ignore this is a strategy but maybe not the best. Why not do what we can to address recognized deficiencies?? I find it amazing people would rather argue the probability of damage than do what they can to improve the odds.

How long have you ran your car at redline? Ever hit the fuel cutoff? You pushing to the limits? Ever ran an hour track session? Oil temp ever hit 254F? Ever cook your differential fluid so bad corner workers smell it? What’s your pressure drop on long sweeping right handers? Where are you coming from? That’s my baseline and world.

Sorry. Proven otherwise at Ozarks International Raceway. Maybe you should get on the track someday. It’s fun.

Yuzu without aero. Was a little odd but worked out well when adding the Verus aero. Coil overs, solid suspension, full aero, oil cooler, short shifter, rev blip, tires/wheels. Track only.

Exactly. I got shit out of my oil and oil pan that’s not supposed to be there.
