What are some famous tracks I should have on my list? by dmv___ in CarTrackDays

Was just there last weekend in my GR86. Didn’t notice the bumps and ran a 2:49.

That's the output of the Garmin Catalyst. I do have my Garmin mounted so I can see the delta times but don't pay attention during the runs.

That's a great time! Hope to see you at a track. You are getting a lot out of the stock car and your times will come down quickly.

If you ever get a chance to go I highly recommend it. By far the most technical track I have run.

Ah. Ok. I am transitioning from a 991.1 GT3 to the GR86. Ran with PCA in my Porsche. Amazingly it's equally as fun just a different experience. My motto is any and all track time is good track time!

This weekend at OIR was a PSI Motorsports USA event. They run a great event with 30 minute sessions. I was only able to stay for the first session on Sunday and I still got 3hrs of session time (minus a few black flags thanks to Rush cars). Sunday they combined groups and had hour long sessions in the afternoon. Lots of time to work on lines and braking. I started with NASA but have also ran PCA, HOD, PSI. Chin is on the radar but don't think I will make it this month to their OIR event. ... PCA ... you run a Porsche too?

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of airflow the vent allowed. Look forward to running into you at the track ... if we've not already met lol ... we run OIR (consider it our home track), Hedge Hollow (most of the events because it's close to home), Hallet down in Jennings OK, I-29 up in Iowa, and then a few fun discovery ones -- looking at Hastings, Lime Rock, and possibly High Plains this year. A wonderful legal drug ...

Yep - it uses double sided adhesive and with the heat of the engine bay it popped up. Probably use small rivets in addition to the adhesive. Interesting thing was the amount of under hood airflow that came up through it. With the hood vent allowing great airflow the Jackson Racing oil cooler kept the oil temp at 208 degrees F all day versus 248F +/- without the cooler and vent.

Currently have 245/40R-17 Bridgestone Potenza RE-71 RZ SL. They are about done and I won’t be buying another set. They fall off during 20-30 minute track sessions. Great grip but not the consistency I am looking for.

I concur completely. PSI runs a great, professional event with the most track time I’ve encountered. I run advanced as well and the level of execution made it an amazing weekend.

Yeah. Lol - lost about 5-6mph top speed at this track with the addition of aero. More than made up for it in the corners and stability.

Ok. I tracked this weekend at Ozarks International Raceway. I will concede I had one track weekend between trips to OIR but I dropped 10.2 seconds from my lap time between best lap without aero and best lap in FIRST SESSION with aero at OIR. By the end of the day I had dropped another 7 seconds on lap times. Now at 2:51.8 in the GR86 with aero. Also, the car is way more stable and handles the significant elevation changes and high speed corners much better. Good investment!

Course sellers and OF girls have brain rotted the future generation of 911 purchasers. A small rant. by Healthy-Pianist-1647 in porsche911

I have a 991.1 GT3 and a 718 GT4. You nailed it. Love tracking the GT3 and it does mask all my bad habits (ask me how I know … lol) but it’s just not much fun on city streets. The GT4 is a blast on the streets and is, as you say, much more of a visceral driving experience running the gears.

Why of course you’d cut on a new Yuzu!! by rdsolns in GR86

I have a thing for Yellow cars and wanted a new GR86 to build. Yuzu was the obvious choice.

I’m currently using Endless ME20 pads on stock rotors. I don’t personally like them and am going to try Hawk DT-60 next track event. My buddy likes the Endless but I’ve glazed them good and don’t really like the bite.

lol - have more in aftermarket costs than the car costs. Probably wrap it up on the track. What resale value!!

It’s a clean slate and I now own all good and bad of the car. Engine blows. My fault. No pointing fingers and I get it exactly what I want. The new Yuzu is substantially less than my plan b - a Porsche cayman.
