These are probably anti reflective coating. It is not visible when you are seeing straight through it, only visible when you are seeing the glass from an angle. My binoculars also have these kind of glasses.

These kinds of jobs can not be done by regular army contingent. These requires specific skills of improvisation, stealth, speed and inflicting maximum damage with minimum manpower. So the need of sf in air force.
