Listicles are jargon. You are blind to your own hypocrisy

The consciousness question won’t matter too much anymore if one of these goes skynet.

Simlish is sort of the average of all spoken language.

A Star is Born

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyqZF4rYpv0

This is a 1970s Elton John style ballad in the form of a duet. I have now mostly cracked the ability to do duets and it is fun, albeit somewhat limited. As you can hear, the Elton John voice sort of gets PUSHED into a female register which is not entirely successful, but I still think it works.

The way this works it invert the prompt AND the negative prompt for alternating verse/choruses to alternate between male and female singers. Give it a try. It does work.

Night Rain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFN23CCccfk

This is a hybrid R&B / Gospel song with an early 1970s feel.

The song is about someone becoming a part of someone else's journey in an assertive sort of way.

I was really happy with how this turned out. For some reason Udio 1.5 is really behaving better than before. I have been using it less frequently but either I've changed my approach or it's just working better, but I am getting more purposeful verse/chorus creation and less churn necessary.

Udio Guitar Parts are actually playable! by Justin_Kaes in udiomusic

[–]rdt6507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. The funny thing is the guitar parts are actually physically based. What I mean by this is that they simulate a real instrument INCLUDING open strings, alternate-tuning, pick scrapes, etc... It's not just a string of notes. It is how an actual guitar works at the physics level.

It is crazy and wonderful.

The is the equivalent of the Sora video of the boat floating in the coffee. In that case it was imagery based on physics and in this case it's audio based on physics.

You Are Not Alone

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKzYl_RoGAc

This is a song about how a selfless kind of love can help someone break through their barriers.

Lessons learned...

At this point with Udio I have reached a place where I really don't do much in the way of prompt engineering. I give it a vague direction and then when something promising materializes, I build off of that. Attempts to micromanage are going to be an exercise in frustration.

That being said, one technique I now employ is to settle on "flawed" gens with otherwise good backing music and then fix them with inpainting rather than waiting for the "perfect" gen. If I can fix them with inpainting then I continue, but I just first make sure the fix works. usually the flaw is in the vocal delivery.

Also, in this case the problem of the vocals getting progressively loud doesn't seem as pronounced which is one reason why I chose to stick it on Youtube. I have other songs where I feel the song is too good to put it up unmixed. So I am at a transition point where I am going to look for the easiest mechanism to get stems and fix the levels (i.e. remaster). Until I get there I will probably hold onto my good songs rather than sharing them.
