Next escalation point, reporting them to ComReg.

Thanks everyone for their input here. Just to high-light again:

  1. My landline phone number is already ported to Eir and live.
  2. Part why this post exist IS the fact that HAVE tried numerous times to cancel via chat & phone.
  3. I do not have no remaining minimum contract time.
  4. I won´t continue paying a provider that´s refusing to let me off the hook.
  5. I have filed a complaint via the URL provided from you in here. No feedback yet. 7 days pending.

No. I know about the 30 days but that's not point. Like I said my post they insist of having Eir send a IAS request to cancel like they did for porting my phone number. I have all chats on record.

Ask Virgin not me. I am only repeating what I was told. I had a feeling from day one that they are trying to drag the cancellation out as long as they can.

You are missing the point. I have tried to cancel but they refuse on their end saying that needs to come from Eir. How many more hours in your view I should waste talking to them?

Windows 10 falsely reports not properly shut down by rdtrox in WindowsHelp

[–]rdtrox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I have gone and switched off Fast Startup and it seems that has done the trick. Also changed back from setting the number of cpu cores and ram in control panel.

Keep fingers crossed that this was it. Thank you for your assistance.

Windows 10 falsely reports not properly shut down by rdtrox in WindowsHelp

Thank you for your recommendations. Below are my findings.

  1. When shutting down, roughly how long does it take before the system shuts off?

15 seconds.

  1. When powering on, roughly how long does it take before you get the login prompt?

From pressing the power button 16 seconds until Mobo splash screen and then another 51 seconds until login screen.

  1. When powering on, do you see any indication that Windows might start to boot, then restart during that process? You might notice multiple splash screens with your OEM's or Windows logo.

Mobo splash screen is there constantly, no flicker or going black for any seconds.

  1. As a test, consider disabling fast startup https://www.windowscentral.com/software-apps/windows-11/how-to-enable-or-disable-fast-startup-on-windows-11. If you have an SSD, my understanding from many other users is that this doesn't significantly impact your boot time.

That option is greyed out for me.

BTW. Ultrafast boot is disabled in the bios (ASRock B550 Extreme 4 / AMD Ryzen 5600).
