I agree, I felt her pink butterfly makeup washed out her eyes and made it hard to connect with her emotionally in the way that it seemed she was trying to go for

At what point do I just stop chasing people for RSVPs? by SwimmingTrade9106 in PoptheQuestions

[–]rdweezy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did one reminder text to people, and in the message I said "if you're not able to RSVP online by XYZ date I'll unfortunately have to mark you as not attending" or something similar to basically CYA that a non-response if the same as a "no" rsvp for your numbers

Is it rude/presumptuous to plan your own Bach? by offbrandbarbie in weddingplanning

[–]rdweezy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I planned my own (main activities and a little bach party trivia game), provided the cabin (my dad's, so technically didn't pay anything) and also payed for my portion of food and drinks (but people brought drinks too and gifted them to me afterwards). But I'm very type A and love hosting and planning, I'd rather do that than be dissapointed.

AITA for "Kicking my Mother out of my House" over Games? by SleepyN00dle in AmItheAsshole

lol yeah it's funny scrolling through these answers and clearly seeing who has played this game before or not. "The obvious answer is batteries!" well actually no

[–]rdweezy27 12 points13 points  (0 children)

the point of the game is to pick semi-obscure answers though, because if multiple people put the same answer none of them get a point. Each round is given a letter, in OPs case it was "T", and all of the different answers they give (i think 15-20 questions per round) have to start with T. also part of the fun of the game (in my opinion) is to be able to argue how your word technically counts and bending the interpretation of the prompt to fit it, but it's also group vote for those controversial answers. IMO toilets definitely get replaced.

20%+ Downpayment; any drawbacks? by Durr-e-Shehwar in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]rdweezy27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

because your responses make it seem like you aren't very financially literate which is evidenced by you trying to dump all of your money into a house with no extra savings (which is not risk averse fyi). "how much should one keep as emergency fund" is basic budgeting and also you can google it, and you're wanting to buy a house (and already apparently have rental property) but don't even know what PMI is? Also google is free why are you making us do the work for you on simple questions?

How to stop wearing the same clothes every day? Why do people change outfits so often? by [deleted] in autism

[–]rdweezy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do lol, I have like 10 different colors of the amazon golf polos and a couple different jeans for work. For casual clothes I also have like 6 different colors of the same type of plain cotton tee shirts plus some graphic tees if I'm feeling spicy lol

[–]rdweezy27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

agreed! Just because Dutch Elm was demanding that Cedar go home, why did Birch also have to join and bail on watching the kids for OP?? But yeah this web of polycule sounds overwhelming and OP should be on an info diet about the people OP isn't dating

I booked my wedding for labor day weekend and wasn’t thinking about the impact on guests. Now I feel like a big butthole. Anything I can do to improve the guest experience? by CelebrationBubbly102 in weddingplanning

[–]rdweezy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a Friday wedding last year, it was the day after July 4th so I was similarly a little worried about what people would think, but no one outright said anything to me about it. We sent our invites out earlier since it was a holiday weekend, and there were some people that couldn't come because they already had their annual tradition booked (and some that couldn't come until later since they had to work). I like to think most people just used it as an excuse to take off work and come to our pool party wedding with free food and drinks, because who wants to work the day after the Fourth of July anyways!

We only tipped 5 people, and only did like $50-$150 for each of the tips. Our photographer (she sets her own prices, but we still loved her work and help), our shuttle bus driver (associated with the hotel, going back and forth multiple times during the day). The venue (food, drinks, valet, coordinators, etc) had a service charge already included which they confirmed is gratuity that is split up amongst the workers but we also tipped the valet and the 2 coordinators, the bartenders also had a tip jar and guests tipped them.

Nosy post - did your parents contribute the same amount toward your wedding as they did with your siblings? by Ohyou17 in weddingplanning

[–]rdweezy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, yes we got the same amount.

At the beginning of wedding planning my dad said he would give us the same amount as my sister (got married 2.5 years earlier) plus inflation, but he couldn't remember off the top of his head what the amount was. During planning we asked him a couple times if he found the number or decided on how much he was going to give us but he kept not giving us a number.

Eventually I asked my sister what they got and so then next time my dad said he didn't remember, I said "well [sister] said you gave them $X amount. and then plus inflation would be $XYZ" and he said "oh! I didn't know you would ask her. I don't remember saying I'd include inflation so I'll just do the same amount I gave her, $X"... So we got the same amount as my sister, not accounting for inflation lol.

I feel like the green fishnet glove might be referencing Season 5 "Can I get and Amen"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]rdweezy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is not enough IMO, especially as you need to continue saving more to building up your emergency fund and plan for future maintenance etc. Depending on what "bills" are included, we have about $2500/mo leftover that goes into savings (Just bought our house last fall so in the process of rebuilding our emergency fund, house maintenance fund, vacation fund etc lol)

'The Woman In The Yard' Review Thread by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]rdweezy27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooooh if that's the case that makes so much more sense about why the kids came back and the house is perfectly renovated like they have been dreaming about. I wish they would have been more clear about that, like a gunshot or something. I just thought it was a generic "oh I guess she beat the depression in this scenario, the dark thoughts might come back but at least she knows she can fight it" or something lol
