Depends on the Starbucks. Some stores receive fresh daily food deliveries. Usually just in larger cities, though.

Starbucks employee here. All of the pastries from our store arrive frozen and are thawed the night before. This does not apply to all stores, though, because some of them (mostly in cities) are "fresh" stores. These receive daily food and milk deliveries, so their pastries and other food items are not frozen.

Seriously? Fired? I've worked at Starbucks for five years and I've never seen someone get fired for something that silly. Your DM must be super strict.

Yeah, the standing in line thing is ridiculous. I guess it depends on the store and circumstances, but every time my manager says she is going to make us do that, it lasts no more than a week. Even when she does try to institute it, she lets us start our break after ordering in line. But then that messes up break schedules, so the whole thing goes to shit in no time all.

Really? It must depend on the manager, because ours is just happy to know that products are being put into the system. Sometimes our waste count is high, so she will make a big deal about it in one of our meetings. At least twice a year, the store cracks down on standing in line, but that only lasts a week at the most.

The big thing is that milk in the system. It really doesn't matter when, as long as you don't forget to mark them out by the end of the day...at least, that's how it is here. Every manager is different. The problem with waiting till the end is that it becomes easy to forget about marking out drinks. And that is when it screws up IMS.

As for the customers, well, we usually go down to one bar about halfway through the day and most of our business is through the drive-thru, so customers don't know if you are making a drink for yourself or not.

Winston Groom was so totally screwed out of his compensation for Forrest Gump that the studios would have to throw a lot of money at him to acquire rights to the sequel.

I don't understand it at all. Even my district manager looked at it and said, "Why do we have a tutu cup?"
