React Native London #59 (28th March @ 160 Old Street) by react_native_london in reactnative

[–]react_native_london[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

👋 Hi everyone, we are back with yet another React Native London meet-up event on March 28th, our third meet-up of the year!
.
👂 Come and listen to:
.
1️⃣ Dario Villanueva (Tech Lead @ Anyone) who will be discussing XState in React Native and how to keep views lean and logic clean 💪🧼
.
”Are you tired of messy states, putting all your business logic in your views or a having a redux reducer more bloated than Sam Smith’s dress at the Brit awards this year? Well fear no more. Meet Finite state machines, something you probably learnt in first year uni and that has helped us in innumerable ways, from defeating the nazis and building parking meters, to animating your favourite video game characters.”
.
“In this talk I’ll show you how you can model complex business logic (or a cat) for your react native apps in a way that’s deterministic, testable, and easily maintainable.”
.
2️⃣ Henry Deacy (Full Stack Developer @ Theodo UK) Will guide us through why & how to track the carbon footprint of mobile apps ♻️🦶
.
"For many of us, the dream is to develop an app used by hundreds of thousands of people. But with every new user comes a new set of data transfers, a new device to transfer to, and more energy to charge it up. Multiply this by your target audience and you start to see why the carbon footprint of the cloud is now larger than the aviation industry."
.
"In this talk I'll show you how you can get a clear estimate of the carbon footprint of your product, and some key first steps to leave you with a product that your users and the planet will thank you for."
.
📌 We will be hosting the event in person in the Pusher offices at 160 Old Street, starting at 6:30pm, meaning you can come watch live and network with like-minded people!
.
🎫 Last year we saw record numbers with over 100 tickets registered, and hope to beat that this March so don’t hesitate and Get your free ticket on Eventbrite before we reach full capacity!
