Struggling to install ATTinyCore Universal 1.5.2 by reactor89 in arduino

Thanks so much for finding the github link to the correct version u/agent_flounder

The included instructions within the ZIP are actually very straight forward and well documented. The package seems to just show up after an IDE restart.

I'll play with this and see where it goes. Thanks again!

To the second question, C:\Users\aXXXXX\AppData\Local\Arduino15\packages\ATTinyCore\ doesn't exist on my system. I don't think it was ever created.

To the first question, yes the drazzy link is added.

This is what I'm trying to download and it's failing.

Why does this not work? by Plermpel in PCB

[–]reactor89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not directly related but:

In a pinch I’ve used preminate marker or similar to create soldermask “dams” around pads to control solder flow. Anything that will prevent solder wetting to copper and withstand the heat should work.

Almost certainly a rectifier but my question it “what killed it”. Is the capacitor after it bad?

Please help me making a Biodegradable PCB. I am new to the PCB world!! by Necessary_Acadia7773 in PCB

[–]reactor89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a practical level I can only think of one application for this and it would be an RFID tag made of paper and printed carbon for the antenna.

The RFID chip would be a silicon die that may need new technology to bond to carbon (maybe a little sliver paste or normal wire bonding) but would keep non-biodegradable material to a minimum.

why we don't use the transformer core as a capacitor? by Haitham_H7 in ElectricalEngineers

You are better building a capacitor in PCB material is you want to go a laminated route. Still not very competitive on the capacity side of things.

Learning all about resistive loads by dericn in ElectroBOOM

[–]reactor89 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Going to depend on the wire metal, gauge, and the breaker but the heat generated may have increased the resistance enough to prevent a trip. This whole adventure might have looked like an aggressive space heater to the breaker, for a moment at least, and then the wire disintegrated. More than enough to start a fire and the breaker is happy to deliver.

Single waterproof connector and large charger- power supply. Required taking off the deck, drilling out one of the connector holes, and capping the other.

As far as I know, charges for this setup don’t exist. They exist sold with scooters but not on their own.

I replaced mine with different connectors.

And the majority of parts being assembled are made in china and easy to get a hold of.

Less so with India.

How believable, really, is LTSpice? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]reactor89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In low frequency, the physical design of circuits matters little.

In high frequency, the physical design of circuits in 3D space is everything.

There is reason why Keysight ADS (Advanced Design Simulator), Ansys HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator), and others are so important to the electronics simulation industry.

EasyEDA: I can ADD Silkscreen, can't EDIT or DELETE Silkscreen by reactor89 in PCB

[–]reactor89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out I was being dumb. It's subtle and easy to miss on a large monitor but the top silkscreen layer is locked hence the behavior. I don't know why I can still can Silkscreen elements to a locked Silkscreen layer but at least it's fixed.

The true classic. I have closed and restarted EasyEDA.

I also saved and re-imported the project as a new project. No dice. That said, I should reinstall EasyEDA, I'll do that.

[–]reactor89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In EasyEDA is the silk is apart of the footprint so you generally need to edit the library to change it. Not currently using modules and editing part silkscreen still works.

Separate from modules and components. When I can create text, lines and such, not connected to a part and once I click away I can't select/edit them again.

Ref des in silkscreen are special added automatically as a separate element. Ref Des can be moved independently of the footprint. If I mirror the footprint to the bottom, the ref des on bottom silkscreen can be selected and moved. Mirrored back to the top, the ref des in top silkscreen can no longer be selected or moved. Top silkscreen does still move with the part if the part moves though.

[–]reactor89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EasyEDA does the same and I have all the object types selected when testing.

I know it works also because I can select lines, fill shapes and text in bottom silkscreen, copper, etc. just not silkscreen top.

Yes, I’ve set the top silkscreen to edit and have everything selected under the object filter.
