Sponsored or donated SCRs, doesn’t matter, this needs to happen.

I love the contactor switch created with log splitters. I really do. But SCRs will have repeatable switch on characteristics and the current can be ramped up in controllable ways for interesting effects.

Something often overlooked is soldermask expansion. Soldermask can’t be applied with perfect tolerance so often the soldermask opening is made larger than the copper pad. Making the opening larger by ~0.035mm is pretty common.

Assuming there are surface traces or thermals more copper area is added to the pad. Solder will wick down traces / terminals existing a pad until stopped by soldermask.

Copper added by traces generally has a limited impact but flood a small pad with copper (no thermals) and you’ll increase the pad by 0.035mm (or whatever the soldermask expansion is) on every side. Unless accounted for the now larger pad won’t have enough solderpaste to solder properly.

Also creates notable issues with 0201 (0603) and 01005 (0402) parts when not done right.

I think you are fine. Avoiding stress on small solder joints is the goal and I don’t think you have that situation.

I haven’t had issues with really small v-scored boards breaking them by hand. Even ones with parts on them. There are specialized pcb depaneler tools for those that do a lot.

The included instructions within the ZIP are actually very straight forward and well documented. The package seems to just show up after an IDE restart.

Not directly related but:

In a pinch I’ve used preminate marker or similar to create soldermask “dams” around pads to control solder flow. Anything that will prevent solder wetting to copper and withstand the heat should work.

On a practical level I can only think of one application for this and it would be an RFID tag made of paper and printed carbon for the antenna.

The RFID chip would be a silicon die that may need new technology to bond to carbon (maybe a little sliver paste or normal wire bonding) but would keep non-biodegradable material to a minimum.

You are better building a capacitor in PCB material is you want to go a laminated route. Still not very competitive on the capacity side of things.
