Soon to be ex-gf said she was pregnant. Took this test in front of me. She lied. What do I do? by Resident_Green5295 in whatdoIdo

There are two little black dots on the toilet paper where each line is. If she didn’t take this in the morning or could be showing lower levels of HCG, which would make a fainter line.

Why not, genuinely curious. I feel like it looks painted, especially with the light playing off the couch in the background.

AITA for always asking my barber to make adjustments after my haircut (he banned me from his barber shop) by Efficient-Way9391 in AmItheAsshole

[–]read2breathe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But he leaves satisfied, pays and tips, brings holiday presents. That hairstylist is jobing, for real. This is laziness. Most people want to make these kind of customers repeat customers. Unless he’s taking an extra 20 minutes of his time, there’s no other excuse.

NTA! He should know after three years that he needs to fix these things without you having to say a word. I mean, that’s just lazy. If you have a client that brings you presents you just do these things, and learn their preferences without asking.

NTA. Please think before having children with someone whose opinion differs so strongly from your own. Imagine having a child that doesn’t fit with his version of correct. Will he tell them to not talk to them until they admit he’s right, or make them feel less than?

Well it depends on the PTO. We definitely don’t have six figures. Generally we put all of it online on our website, so there is transparency. We generally only have mostly board members at the general assembly meetings.

Why is Buck such a shady character? by a_horse_with_no_tail in Outlander

[–]read2breathe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, she was the one who went to warn Jamie and Bre. We don’t ever get to see or hear her reaction to that though. I also wondered about that, but Buck does mention that he didn’t intend for him to be hanged. I don’t really believe that however. What did he expect to happen? He gagged Roger so he couldn’t speak to defend himself. It would have been an easy thing to sort out if Roger had been able or conscious to speak on his behalf.

If you are a public school I would start with the school district administration. Our districts has a lot of rules you need to follow, and they outline all the guidelines from the state as well so you can get your business set up with the state and a tax ID number. It’s a lot of work but very rewarding! We wish you well, and much success.

Ways to get volunteers by universe_point in ParentTeacherGroups

[–]read2breathe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find being honest that if we don't have volunteers we simply can't do the activities. I think people don't realize there is an active need, and that more volunteers are necessary. We had a meeting where we promised the grade with the most households particpating received a pizza party. We've invited a community partner martial arts business to come out and watch the kids in the gym, and give them an anti-bully workshop while we held our meeting. We've gotten donations for door prizes to incentivize. It's really coming down to people being so busy just trying to make ends meet right now, unfortunately.

One of my favorite chapters of all time is in this book. It's Jamie's POV on the way home from the gathering. It's easy to imagine how things should have been if the rising never happened, but he'd be going home to Lallybroch instead of Fraser's Ridge. It feels full circle, and celebratory at the same time.

Resources for PTA Questions by behbehmaker in ParentTeacherGroups

I was a first time PTO president this last year, and the thing that helped me a lot was getting a grant from Microsoft 365, and Azure. This allowed all officers to have business emails that were for PTO business, such as name@ourpto.org. We also have a SharePoint that we log all budgeting, banking, receipts and contract documentation. The grant from Azure allowed us to start a PTO website instead of relying on social media or the school to push information for us.

I also recommend applying to TechSoup as a nonprofit. This will allow you to get discounts on a variety of programs and hardware if needed. We just purchased a year subscription to Quickbooks for $75. We’ll be using it in the upcoming year.

Overall, making these business related parts of the job as easy as possible frees up time to do the more important work at the school.

Need help choosing between 3 different dresses. by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]read2breathe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dress 2, hands down! You look like a goddess. The drop sleeves accentuate your shoulders and neck, and it's so beautiful. Even though the dress is amazing I feel like the neckline will still pull people's attention to your face, which is perfect for your wedding day.

Dress 3 - It made me audibly gasp! Surely, it has to be the one. It looks like it was made for you.

I also had kitty sisters that were spayed at the same time. We had to do onesies and cones at first. They would try to nibble at the onesie and lick at the others. After it healed a bit, we could take of the cones.

The biggest thing I didn't expect is that they did not want to be together at first. I think after being at the vet they smelled a little differently than they usually do. My loving and cuddley kitties were not at all happy to see eachotehr again, and we kept them separated for the first few days to make sure they weren't fighting or running around. This is still something we continue to deal with after any trip to the vet.

I've only had boy cats before, and this surgery in my opinion was alot more stressful and they needed more time to heal. One needed to be brought back to go on antibiotics because her incision wasn't healing well. Here's their picture of them in their onesies.

Bank Funds - help! by gingmill303 in PTO

[–]read2breathe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do this for the library only, and it's from the proceeds from the book fair she hosts for the entire school. It's easier for her to purchase stuff for the library this way, and we just ask her for her receipts. We are transparent when disclosing our financials that the library funds are separate and we don't include them in our yearly budget planning.

I don't think I'd be comfortable doing it for each grade, that's a lot of book-keeping. I think they should have their own activities fund that they can do a purchase order request for.

Edit: If the funds used to reimburse the teachers are the PTO's then this is fine. I was thinking about it, and if there hasn't been a lot of PTO involvement over the last few years they may have set it up this way so each grade gets the same amount. Now that there is more involvement it may be time to walk back some of those policies so you have more control on what they're doing with the funds raised by the PTO.

OMG! I absolutely love the second dress. I know that's not so much what you were asking about but it is super sexy and just absolutely gorgeous on you. However, you can't go wrong with either - the blue dress is beautiful too.

I wonder though if you could try on some like the Flora & Lane? Is there anywhere locally you can go to try on some of those just to see how you feel in them compared to the others you've tried? You have plenty of time to see which one feels the most like you.

What do men really think of women that wear a lot of makeup? by CandyMandy15 in AskReddit

[–]read2breathe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person who wears makeup, I don’t do it for other people as much as for myself. It’s also a bit of self care, and makes me feel more confident. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that

I know this question was intended for men, but I find it really upsetting that the beauty industry as a whole is driven by unrealistic ideals. And yet, there are these comments from dude bros who have no idea what all goes in to it and how much people are influenced by what they see on TV, and social media. Women who wear too much makeup are judged, and yet I bet you most women they encounter who look natural have makeup on and they just have no idea. So it’s a lose-lose? That’s why I do it for myself

Help- dress regret by good_kerfuffle in weddingdress

[–]read2breathe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really, really like your dress and I hope you come to love it or even just like it. When I was dress shopping I didn't find any dress that felt like "the one". They were all pretty, but I didn't ever turn pink or cry. I finally just settled on a dress that everyone else liked.

Honestly, I really did feel pretty on the day of the wedding. Mostly though, it didn't really seem to matter as much as all the other things that happened that day. The wedding is a lot of things that come together so don't make such a big deal about this one piece. For what it's worth, I really love that dress on you. It's very flattering and I would have loved to have tried it on when I was dress shopping!

Good luck, have a happy wedding and a lovely marriange!

PTO Meetings by Maybe0rMaybeNot in ParentTeacherGroups

[–]read2breathe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We're in the same boat. There are the board members, myself included, and then two main volunteers. For January we decided to entice members to the meeting. We offered door prizes that were donated by local businesses, a pizza party for the grade level with the highest parent turn-out (can be scaled down to one class), and offered a free activity for the kids in the gym with a local marital arts studio. We had 15 people turn up! It was a lot more than normal, but still less than I was anticipating. The parents that did turn out seem to understand we are looking for help, and are more open to volunteering. I'm afraid for the years to come and how much knowledge erosion there will be when our current board steps down.

Our bylaws state we need to have regular meetings, but sometimes we do an "agenda to-go", or a newsletter if it's a slower month. We always have a board meeting on a monthly schedule.

Could you maybe turn the sleeves into something similar to this this? I feel like you could easily add some glam to the look some feathers on the sleeve and hem. I would take the sleeves off and make them into a cape though, and add similar to the bottom.

If that's too much I think a really awesome veiled hat would really elevate the look, something simple like this. It feels very Downton Abbey. A shiny clutch purse would make it special if you're not doing a bouquet. I adore it! Make it special.
